Clemson ‘Diversity’ Training: Time Is Culturally Relative, Expecting Promptness Is Racist

Clemson University’s ‘diversity education and training” teaches employees that every “cultural perspective regarding time” is equally valid, so it’s wrong to expect people to be prompt.

Clemson is spending $26,945 on “diversity education and training” for its faculty members. […]

In one slide, employees are taught that tardiness is acceptable because the concept of time is culturally relative. Thus, every culture’s perception of the actual time must be respected — since one “cultural perspective regarding time is neither more nor less valid than any other.” …

And when they bring your worthless culturally attuned ass into the ER with a heart attack then it’s break time and you’ll be treated when our cultural timeline dictates if ever.

The report was supposed to come out last fall but the black students were slow in producing their research...

Do they still have paperboys delivering in the neighborhood? At least in my area, the paper routes are covered by adult men in trucks and vans. And they cover large territories, not just individual small neighborhoods.

FACT: Regularly being late is rude. You’re wasting the time of others.

FACT: Ascribing a rude act to people of a certain race IS the definition of racism.

Conclusion: The statement that expecting promptness from people is a racist construct is actually nothing more than a truly RACIST statement.

The fact that these idiots don’t realize how WRONG they are is both hilarious AND traffic.

Just thought of this...

In one slide, employees are taught that tardiness is acceptable because the concept of time is culturally relative. Thus, every culture’s perception of the actual time must be respected — since one “cultural perspective regarding time is neither more nor less valid than any other.” …

What if a guy walks into the diversity class about 4/5s of the way done... Would the teacher have to accept this, and not penalize the person, since his "cultural perspective regarding time" is different than everyone else? And if he's White, what if he says that he identifies as some other race?

“Time is a relative concept”

Time is important... It keeps everything from happening at once.

every “cultural perspective regarding time” is equally valid,

no. cultures that don't know how to use time efficiently have lower productivity of labor, are less productive, and have a lower standard of living for the average worker than those that do

I have not seen a paperboy on a bike in decades.

It used to be a great way for a kid to earn money, learn to handle it and to learn discipline. I started at 10 years old and continued until 17 when I switched to working at Krogers in Produce and as a cashier (don’t dare forget their Top Value Stamps!)

Kinda like on the left you can decide your gender but race is on your birth certificate.

So if I don’t show up for class or time, or keep missing class, and the professor fails me because of not attending and also not taking and thus failing tests I didn’t take, is ‘racist.’ Got it. And now I can use this at work, to demand that I get paid because expecting me to show up for work is racist. (unfortunately I’m a white, hetrosexual, Christian male, thus probably ‘racially’ excluded from claiming racism against me for wanting to get paid under this ‘racism exclusion clause’.)

I’m related to a lot of Cubans. Early on I learned the concept of “hora latina”, which means “Latin time” -or- I’ll show up when I get there or feel like it.”

My sister-in-law is notoriously late whenever invited to any function. We have occasionally told her to come at 5 if we are having the function at 6—and she is still late.

My experience is that women are on time for work but late for everything else.

Hopefully the football coaches were in attendance.

Have the team show up for the games a few hours late—and watch what happens next!

This reminds me of a hilarious family story.

There was a wedding in the family and one of the relatives had a family with little kids. They were _always_ late.

This wedding was held in a public park (outdoors) with a long driveway. You could see anyone entering the park for hundreds on feet away.

Sure enough the tardy family showed up halfway through the wedding ceremony. Everyone turned and looked at them as they made the long drive up the driveway. Their big noisy truck totally disrupted the ceremony for several minutes.

After that public humiliation—they were never late for any family event again!

Get out the white sheet, but when I was a boy we called that CP time. I’ll let other determine what they think the CP stands for.

So gender is mutable and now so is time. The Left push to move away from immutable truth to a society where those who control speech control what’s true marches on.

Something changes as it gets closer to time to leave..

My students are the same way. Ask them to be on time, and they are offended. But they want to pack up five minutes before it's time to go, and would stand at the door the whole five minutes if I let them.

I'm sure it's a little different now, over 50 years later, but the concept of time in the Spanish culture was much different than the one practiced in the US.

A spaniard once told me, in response to my voiced frustration with Spanish lack of timeliness, that 500 years ago when Spain was a superpower, they were always on time. But their not a superpower anymore so they can relax. America is a superpower so we're the ones who need to be on time now. Made some sense.

But as you can see, the cultural leftists want to erode everything that led to progress in the west over the last thousand years by not just respecting other cultures but being forced to embrace their chaotic and primative natures as our own. The lowest common denominator shall rule rather than the best and the brightest.
