Trump takes a centrist tack on economic policy, abandoning campaign pledges
Washington Compost ^ | April 12, 2017 | By Damian Paletta and Ana Swanson

"President Trump is abandoning a number of his key campaign promises on economic policy, adopting instead many of the centrist positions he railed against while campaigning as a populist.

Trump will not label China a “currency manipulator,” he told the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, despite a campaign pledge that he would apply the label on his first day in office. He also said he was open to reappointing Federal Reserve Board Chair Janet L. Yellen after saying last year that the central banker should be “ashamed” of what she was doing to the country.

And he embraced the Export-Import Bank, a government agency that he mocked last year and that has long been despised by conservatives who labeled it crony capitalism.

The statements represent a move toward the economic policies of more centrist Republicans and even at times align with the approach of former president Barack Obama. Should he follow through on the newly articulated positions, it would suggest that the candidate who ran as the ultimate outsider is increasingly adopting a more moderate economic agenda."

Although this article is from the Washington Compost, I get a bad feeling we are heading toward a Bush III administration. I have only seen that Goldman Sachs, Gary Kohn in one interview supporting RINOCare and I did not like what I saw. As they used to say in the military, I hope Trump did not receive a lobotomy when he took the oath of office. I think Sean Hannity said when he talked to GW privately when he was leaving office aren't you worried what will happen with Obama. GW said don't worry he won't be able to change much. Are we back to the statusBushquo?

Things do appear to be drifting in the wrong direction.

Cutting federal spending and overregulation are economic priorities #1 through 547.

He’s not taking a centrist track, he’s delaying several bills until he can get better control of things and put through what he wants.

You need to get to your safe space as soon as possible, snowflake.

There are lots of deals going on right now that the Compost is not mentioning, all for the easily manipulated to run away screaming.

North Korea first and foremost.

But I’m sure WWIII is preferable to you.

These stories are all phony. Every single time I hear Trump talk in his own words it differs from the stories they write about him. Following the news is, quite frankly, a waste of time. Wait until Trump speaks or until a bill is actually passed. Everything else is just busy work for these people. I’m not exaggerating. Every. Single. Time. I urge everyone to calm down here, it’s quite likely that his words, his tone or the context were all reworked to create a story.

Every week there are 2 or 3 of these stories of how Trump is backing off of his campaign pledges. So far The evidence he is, is just not there. It seems to me the “fake” media is trying disillusion Trump supporters.

Oh noes, in 80 days he has only done 50 things that would have been a pipe dream, at best, in 4 years under Jeb, Hillary, Bernie, Mitt, McCain, Rubio, Kasich, or Huckabee. Let’s panic!!! SMH

Yes, it is just too bad that Ted Cruz didn’t win the nomination! Now, there is a real Conservative! Think of it! We could have stopped TPP! We could have gotten a Conservative Supreme Court Justice!

And with Ted Cruz the press would be fawning all over the administration with praise and wonder of the wonderful things President Hillary Clinton was doing “for the children”!

I dont trust the WashPost but this story does raise some serious concerns ....I can only hope that DJT will not cave into the alligators .. and that he will go ahead and Drain the Swamp!!!
1. islamics and islamoNazis (and the old kind of nazis) clean out the Snake Department, which has been a terrible cesspool for years
2. clear out same crowd that Obama imported into our defense, intelligence, and security agencies especially
3. reduce size of fed govt by something on order of 30 to 40 percent, will necessarily vary from 0 to 100 percent from agency to agency
4. reduce oppressive regulations
5. restore respect for American citizens and our constutionally-recognized rights (all of them, starting with the “Guardian of the Constitution” namely the 2nd Amendment..end all federal firearms restrictions and regulatrions and licensing and taxes and then make that liberty uniform across all 57 states by preempting any state or local restrictions...to make our liberties real again.
6. vet and deport Islamics to their own counties (namely, the 57 countries they’ve already conquered by infiltrating and then terrorizing from within)
7. work out a much better arrangement with Mexico
8..?

Agreed. I now have more trust in supermarket tabloids because at least they from time to time admit that they make up material (mind you, the Enquirer was the first to break the John Edwards train wreck).
