Police in Citrus County, Florida said Sunday that a man reportedly seen shooting at a natural gas pipeline had been fatally shot by officers after a vehicle chase.
Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast was quoted in a statement on his offices Facebook page as saying no police were injured. He said officers from Citrus County, Marion County and the Florida Highway Patrol were involved. The chase began in Marion County and ended with a crash near Floral City in Citrus County, according to the statement.
This is where the suspect engaged the deputies and was subsequently shot and killed, it said.
We know that the suspect was armed and extremely dangerous, and pending the examination of the evidence at the scene, we will be able to determine what other weapons he had in his possession at the time of the shooting, Prendergast was quoted as saying.
The sheriffs office did not identify the slain man, pending notification of his next of kin, nor the officers involved in the shooting, who were to be placed on administrative leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement actively investigates this incident.
The initial call to police came into Marion County, where, according to the statement, witnesses said a man was shooting at the Sabal Pipeline natural gas pipeline and associated equipment, with what they believed to be a high power rifle.
If it is a Muslim, you can bet that it is a RAT.
Must have been a snowflake
Probably not. The sight of a gun would make a snowflake melt. A snowflake couldn’t even touch a gun.
Initially, I thought it was just another “See that sparrow up there on the valve? I bet I can hit it from here. Hold muh beer.”
However, after reading the article, I think it’s probably a Dem eco-terrorist from Yemen.
But when the gas is introduced, there may be a leak and subsequent fire.
LOL!
“Pa? Start the smelter! We got some free iron comin’ our way!”

Would not the pipeline sections be pressure tested prior to intoducing product?
I don’t know but would think they would be tested.
Is this a “hold ma beer” Redneck, or a camel-f*****?
ok joe, let’s not test the pie for leaks before we put gas into it
Yes it sure would be pressurized to design pressure and observed how long it could maintain that pressure. My bad.
The Sabal Pipeline is being constructed, as a result of the forced conversion of FL power plants from coal to natural gas, courtesy of obamaumao. The coal that supplied a multitude of plants in Central and S. Florida was supplied by existing train tracks in place since before the 1950s. So, because of the “cleaner” “environmental” and “safer” natural gas being forced on the plants by EPA regulations and executive orders— the pipeline had to be built (by cronies of obamaumao, btw).
The environmentalists are whacked out, NOT over the so-called environmentally sound natural gas forced changes.... BUT the building of the pipeline to supply what was heretofore not needed. They think this is another Dakota Pipeline chief dan george moment.
What IS true is that Eminent Domain was used, abusively the entire length of the pipeline— from N. Alabama to FL— crossing over many family farms and ranches and disrupting their businesses— all because of obamaumao the magnificent. The ranches in Citrus County are family owned, and they are plenty pissed off about this (might also add the pipeline route destroyed a family home development in Marion county), and would not be surprised if an interested citizen took pot shots at the pipeline. This could be either a “Bundy Family” response or a cut-out environmentalist whacko fake out response.
Either way it is a travesty legacy of obamaumao the great and powerful, preserving the lost coal mining jobs and forcing the elimination of the most efficient form of energy the US has— to favor the natural gas industry. All because Warren Buffett doesn’t own Norfolk-Southern or CSX rail. Will read with interest just who was shot dead, and pray it was not a cracker FL pioneer family member or rancher.
Sabal Pipeline project files 160 eminent domain lawsuits
Yeah, but you need to know exactly where to shoot the thing.
(Almost anywhere)
CBS said that witnesses reported a high power rifle. With the media record of accuracy on all things having to do with scary guns, the rifle involved is liable to be a single shot .22.
That is a high powered rifle. A high powered bb gun.
Both?
