My job takes me to manufacturing facilities that employ lot of immigrant labor. I have had no trouble finding a parking spot today. Some people have shown up. Some are going home early.

I work from home, so I don’t know if any local restaurants are closed.
I will let you know if the taco truck fails to show up at the construction site next door.

I noticed there was a bit more traffic this morning. Unsure of correlation, but for a second I thought I was going to miss a light...

Why would legal immigrants be protesting? I would think they would be the first to be against illegal immigration. They played by the rules.

Our machine shop is staffed exclusively with Hispanic machine operators and everyone is working today. Mostly older, hard working types. I’m not surprised. Though my Ecuadorian draftsman has had a bit of a chip on his shoulder lately...

Schools are sending home letters here esp in the illegal ridden areas to warn this is not an excused absense—big deal.
To: Gasshog
I’m in LA where normally one out of two people you see is an immigrant, and half of those are illegal.
No change today.

Pardon my confusion.
Is this a day without Immigrants or a day without ILLEGAL Immigrants?
Remember, Immigrants are Invited, Invaders are Repelled.

I’m confused too. As a naturalized immigrant do I get a free day off or not. Should I check with the German immigrant society ?.

It was reported some years ago that San Antonio, TX tried something similar. The stores, not just restaurants, reported that profits were down 13% and thefts were down by 59%. Just saying...
