>>>I’m confused too. As a naturalized immigrant do I get a free day off or not. Should I check with the German immigrant society ?<<<

Thank goodness I still don’t own my Porsche 911.

With my luck, it would have broken down today and Franz my German Mechanic would be hanging out at the Beach rather than being at work.

“Is this a day without Immigrants or a day without ILLEGAL Immigrants?”

I’m glad someone else noticed that. Despite a poster calling on “undocumented” immigrants to strike all I’ve heard this morning is a strike by immigrants as a whole.
3 reasons why whomever is in charge is trying to expand the strikers;
1. It would be easy for ICE to know who wasn’t legal by their absence.
2. Employers could no longer claim ignorance of a worker’s status if they didn’t show up for work today.
3. What if all the striking illegal immigrants didn’t “paralyze” the country as they threatened to? How much power do they really have?

I have been at two facilities of the same company today. At one place, probably less than half of workers showed up. At the other, almost everyone showed up. As you said, those who are there are mostly the older, hardworking types. And most of the women. The company anticipated large absences, because someone wrote on a white board —If you are going to be absent tomorrow, call in before 7.

First of all we need two amendments to the Constitution...one that cancels automatic citizenship at birth and the other which states that foreigners should not have all the rights under US law that US citizens are entitled to.

Then,we could set up some kind of "guest worker" system that allows foreigners who've been offered *temporary* jobs (picking vegetables, for example) to come for a while and then leave.

Although I'm no expert on agriculture or ranching it seems possible to me that a permanent ban on all foreigners might hurt our farmers.

In Hollywood and other high rent districts, is Lawn Maintenance noise abated? How many Taco Trucks working today?

I have been out and about in Clearwater, FL (restaurant, shopping, grocery store, etc.) and I don’t notice any change in the usual situation. The restaurant I had lunch in with some friends is one of those liberal do-gooder type places and kitchen was running at full steam.

I also see the same number of landscape crews in my neighborhood that I would see on any other weekday. This is the industry the majority of our Hispanics are in around here.

I got a pedicure from a lovely Thai lady, and a nice Hispanic lady checked out my groceries.

On their flyer they even call on residents and citizens to skip work!

Two restaurants on my block that I rarely and sometimes patronize I’ve noticed are closed with signs in the window. I won’t be eating there ever again. I’m half-way tempted to take a longer stroll and take names. I may just do that.

Are these morons playing dumb or do they really not know the difference between legal and illegal immigration and should therefore be reported to ICE? My guess is it’s the former case since it seems every liberal pet issue requires obfuscation in order to deceive into going along with their bad ideas - legal & illegal immigration, birth control & abortion, gun safety & gun bans, “investments” & cronyism, etc etc
