Tucker has totally lost control of his interviews. The slimy liberals have learned to just talk over him and never let him get a word in edgewise. Too bad, I use to look forward to his show. Now it has become a platform for the rabid, insane left.
They should put Tucker on the left channel and the guest on the right channel. Then, the viewer could just shut off the leftist idiot.
Could have been Ben Shapiro, but he turned out to be just another cuck.
I agree completely.
I know. I offered it freely, to give you a sense of where I was coming from in furtherance of our conversation. I'm not going to go all goofy on you, I'm fully aware of your self-appointed role as chief whip of Freeperland. But I figure it also fair that I give something up because, after all, I know more about you than you think. :-)
First of all, most people here either weren't adults in '68 and/or didn't live in the hot spots. What they know about it all they got from T.V, movies, T.V., programs, newspapers, stuff on line, or vague memories. Some were babies, toddlers, of kids.
I would dispute that. All one has to do is look at the FR memorial wall to question that assertion. And one can reasonably deduce from the cultural references expressed that the majority of Freepers are either senior citizens or close to it with the odd baby boomer thrown in there. How many Vietnam Vets inhabit this site? Quite a few from the war stories that I see get swapped. Hardly children getting their info from the media of the time.
Some were adults and some did live where it was all going down; though that, alone, doesn't guarantee that they know much either.
That I agree with. Regular Americans didn't have the first damn clue what was going on and they did nothing to stop it. They surrendered cultural and academic institutions with nary a thought. And so now we are having to fight the fight that should have been had 50 years ago. I don't know what you people were doing back then but you simply failed. Maybe you figured electing Nixon was sufficient. I don't know.
And now it falls to the younger generations to try and put the country back together. And then certain people have the gall to question the tactics of the new era when they didn't lift a finger to stop the cultural Marxist insurgency when it was growing right under their nose.
Yes, to some of us, it is kind of a rerun/repeat; however, the old saying holds true...the first time it's a tragedy, the second time...a farce. But this isn't a "farce"; it's something else, something I can't quite put a name to.
This is the final stage of the cultural Marxist movement. They've been beaten at the ballot box and at the lecture hall so they are returning to the streets. It's the same fight since Lenin and the October Revolution. Only this time the American people won't put up with it and will meet violence with violence. This is where we are at. As I said earlier the days of Buckley v. Vidal are over. These days its memetic/cyber warfare on obscure websites producing propaganda that resonate with regular folks.
I'm one of those whom you are sort of ridiculing...I don't have a FB page ( though some of my friends do have one ), I don't do TWITTER, but others my age and older and younger do. And no matter what you assume, I DO watch a LOT things on YouTube; from Trump's rallies, to people's political rants/discussions, to Milo, to operas, operettas, and even country music and instructional stuff.
That's good. And what I'm doing is not ridiculing people who legitimately say they don't have a use for social media. It's the Luddite impulse that I find aggravating. The people who say, "I don't have a TV/Social Media Account and proud of it, etc." The arrogance of ignorance.
You can't bear to watch THE MORON ON THE STREET, because it's "cringe worthy", but you enjoy watching the far MORE cringe inducing crapola on Tucker's show? LOL
That's correct. Because, fundamentally, I don't like people being made to look ridiculous. It's degrading and dehumanizing. If you get off on that sort of thing then perhaps you should examine your conscience and ask yourself why you would find that enjoyable. It's the pathology of the low brow who relishes in watching people sign phony petitions giving up their rights or whatever gag of the week is on display.
At least with Tucker's show you have people espousing points of view, as asinine as they may be, but its certainly more intellectually honest that what I just described above. I can listen to differing points of view without blowing a blood vessel because Tucker didn't respond in a manner that is personally pleasing and salves whatever irritant that ails you.
To understand what '68 and inward was REALLY like....ask people who not only lived through it all, but who also lived where the garbage went down. If you can't find anyone to ask....FRmail me. :-)
I have my parents for that. They lived through the Watts Riots of '65 and I have my own experience with the LA Riots of '92 where I observed my father loading his .45 to put in his briefcase as he traveled downtown for work.
I don't see myself nor have I decided that I am FR's chief whip; whatever that is. We're having a discussion, a more or less civil one, and I hope trying to understand the other's point of view.
FR's Memorial Wall is for DEAD Freepers; hence, they are no longer posting, so that's one contradiction right there, that you made about who knows what about 1968 and beyond, through having lived through it.
Most FREEPERS are probably BOMMERS ( that age group always was the largest group here ), but there always was and now possibly even more are very vocal Gen Xers, who like to blame the BOOMERS for all of the "bad stuff".
The young adults of '68 were hardly to blame for not doing more ( though I too blame some of them, for being drawn into the early days of lefty Hippiedom/Marxism ) to stop the damned RED DIAPER BABIES; their parents were to blame for not putting a stop to it all!
What you are ignoring, is that back then, there was no cable, no internet, no iPhones, talk radio was local ( I don't know about other places, but DO know about the fathers of today's talk radio in the NYC area)and all most people knew was what was on T.V. news, in newspapers, and just lived their lives, without paying all THAT much attention to what was going on in the places where things were dicey/crazy. And even some who lived in such places, didn't pay constant attention to it....they really couldn't.
Oh sure, you know all about me.....NOT!
And you agreed with what I just wrote, but still played the blame game. You can't have it both ways.
And you don't know that "nobody" tried to stop the Marxist/COMMIE takeover; some tried to, but most didn't understand what was really going on, thought it cute, or wanted to be "cool" for/with their kids. And most of the parents of the younger group, who were stupidly led around by their collective noses, by the damned RED DIAPER BABIES, were followers of the Spockian way to raise kids, which he, himself did NOT use on his own children.
The IDIOT ON THE STREET isn't "made to look the fool"...they ARE idiots and stupid !
As I said, I find the cut-ins, on Watter's World, clever and funny; the stupids, not at all and their abject ignorance doesn't make me feel good, better than they are, nor any other assumption you can think up. Frankly, they make me angry and sad.
No, the faaaaaaaaaaaar lefties and the insane libtards, who Tucker has on, is really the same thing as the MORON ON THE STREET, with one disquieting difference....the majority of the time, the guest bests Tucker, he looks like the fool, and there's always a chance that younger watchers, who have never heard of these people, let alone heard what they have to say, can be impressed by them.
You should reread what I said...I told you to go talk with older people ( it's always a very good idea to ask people older than one, what it was like when they were younger; then you get a much better idea of things, than when you read about something, because you can ask questions and hear how it affected them. I did this as a child, because I was really interested in what things were like before I was born , so it isn't a "new" idea I just had )and if all else FAILED, you didn't have anyone at all to ask, you could always ask me. I was being kind. Oh well...no good deed goes unpunished, as they say. :-)
Okay...one question.......
You blame others who didn't stop things in the past, claim that YOU and your generation will be the ones to "clean everything up", NOW, so WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT ALL, besides having voted for Trump ?
Sorry I missed your response. I'm just your average lurker (for many years) who formally signed up in 2011. I Put that in my screen name to let the veterans know how much of a n00b I am. Save them the trouble. Just trying to be helpful :-)
I'm a mid-30's Gen X'er. So I am sensitive to the other generations and the turmoil within them. Not to be immodest, but I consider myself a big ideas guy. Where've we been and where are we going. I normally don't bother with the tit-for-tat of daily politics. I don't listen to Sean Spicer's daily press briefings or the hoopla that surrounds all that. I try to understand the long term trend of where we are going whether that's based on age or demographics.
I agree with Bannon and his understanding of historical cycles. I guess that's where I'm ultimately coming from. And throw in a little bit of Ray Kurzweil's futurism just for fun.
It can lead to some strange ideas, but I think that is what is needed. I'm essentially a pessimist and believe that democracies have a shelf life of about 250 years. And so as a youngish person I have a vested interested in what's going to happen in the next 30-40 years. So my time horizon extends beyond the 24 hour news cycle. So I try to provide context to news items based on that worldview.
Goodness. I’ve not heard of him.
THX for the name; I’ll look him up.
Gotta get out of my cloister. :)
She agreed it you. It’s time for killing.
We’d better be ready.
FR's Memorial Wall is for DEAD Freepers; hence, they are no longer posting, so that's one contradiction right there, that you made about who knows what about 1968 and beyond, through having lived through it.
What it contradicts was your false assertion that many people on FR didn't have personal knowledge of the Marxist uprising of the 60's. Many people from FR lived through that time and some still do. So your caricature that FR is populated with with individuals with no personal knowledge of history from that time period has been proven false.
Most FREEPERS are probably BOMMERS ( that age group always was the largest group here ), but there always was and now possibly even more are very vocal Gen Xers, who like to blame the BOOMERS for all of the "bad stuff".
And why shouldn't they be blamed? Take my state of California. Boomers in the public sector unions convinced other Boomers in the state legislature to increase wages and benefits based on 'future earnings' from the California Pension fund. When the market crashed, twice: in 2000 and in 2008 the California tax payer had to pay the balance leaving municipalities bankrupt.
Hell, some cities are only incorporated now for the sole purpose of paying pension benefits. Forget about offering any other municipal services. And now the California general fund is being robbed of infrastructure money that could fix dams all so boomer public sector workers can retire at 50 and take off in their motorhome and relocate to Arizona. Gen X'ers didn't do that.
And after the market crash of 2008 and 401(k) valuations tanked guess who had to stay on and work for an extra 10 years to makeup the difference? That's right. The boomers. Leaving no upward mobility for Gen X'ers. Because they were so damned greedy they leveraged the equity in their home with second and third mortgages in order to get that new boat they wanted. Gen X'ers didn't do that. In fact they got passed over in favor of outsourcing and cheaper millennial labor. And you wonder why there is a general populist backlash against globalization and free trade?
The young adults of '68 were hardly to blame for not doing more ( though I too blame some of them, for being drawn into the early days of lefty Hippiedom/Marxism ) to stop the damned RED DIAPER BABIES; their parents were to blame for not putting a stop to it all!
I semi-agree with that. the 50's generation spoiled and ruined their kids. But I question the level of scholarship at these universities. I mean the Frankfurt School was established in 1933 in New York. Now I realize there was no internet (which goes to your point about technology), but come on who let this cultural Marxism and critical historical theory fester at Columbia for 30 years?
I suppose I should give credit where credit is due to Nixon and McCarthy and the rest of that crew for doing what they tried to do. But it ultimately failed. Nice try guys.
Oh sure, you know all about me.....NOT!
I know that you are an elderly, bitter, Eastern Establishment wannabe Manhattanite/Chicagoan GOPe woman whose claim to fame is that you learned the ins and outs of backroom politics by sitting at the feet of those Nelson Rockefeller Republicans who frequented Tammany Hall and that you were a Nixon girl. Enough detail for you?
And you don't know that "nobody" tried to stop the Marxist/COMMIE takeover; some tried to, but most didn't understand what was really going on, thought it cute, or wanted to be "cool" for/with their kids. And most of the parents of the younger group, who were stupidly led around by their collective noses, by the damned RED DIAPER BABIES, were followers of the Spockian way to raise kids, which he, himself did NOT use on his own children.
Oh I fully agree with your assessment of the Spockian method. A total disaster. But most people didn't understand because they didn't have the foresight. I guess we can chalk it up to it being a simpler age. But that's an explanation and not an excuse. But as long as your generation is willing to accept failure, we can move on to how to fix it. The younger generation can learn from your mistakes, which I think they have by taking this head on. And just maybe, those of you who are still round might have some insights. Which is why it's more important than ever that Tucker highlight this madness to kickstart some old memories.
If you think Tucker is being bested by these people, all I can say is your optics are off. When Tucker has people on saying its okay to commit violence to achieve a political end, then it's game over. The average American watching says, "Fine. Let's lock 'n load and get it on." You have no idea the country you're living in, safe and sound in the woods of CT. That's why your interpretation is skewed.
You blame others who didn't stop things in the past, claim that YOU and your generation will be the ones to "clean everything up", NOW, so WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT ALL, besides having voted for Trump ?
You're right. I do blame others for their mistakes. Tragic ones. Practically nation-killing ones. We are mobilizing. We are educating ourselves about things your generation couldn't be bothered with 75 years ago. We are arming ourselves for eventual conflict. Because that is the country you left us in your ignorance and greed.
“I have noticed he has been a little off his game lately though. That Asian school teacher walked all over him the other night. She was despicable and nasty”
Nope, you picked up on exactly what Tucker wanted his audience to take away from that interview. “She was despicable and nasty” Letting her ramble on made that very apparent. Violent as well.
You too can make the same statement I did when you have been on the air as long as I have old dude. Now go back to sleep and stop bothering people who actually work.
Neither Hannity nor O’Reilly can hold a candle to Tucker Carlsen as far as rebutting Leftists “on the fly”.
please...are you seriously suggesting that O’Reilly would have allowed that insane Berkeley twit to filibuster and walk all over him..? if there’s one thing BOR does well, it’s preventing diarrhea of the mouth...
Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
Tucker has figured something out that many others would (and should) figure out for themselves:
By far the best way to hang a liberal is to calmly give them the rope and then stand back and watch them fashion the noose, place it around their necks, throw it over the lamp post, and pull with all their might.
Why spend all that energy yourself when they will do the job for you?
Don’t get into arguments with morons - they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I enjoy Tucker’s opening scrimmage. I think you may be still Jonesing for Megan in that time slot.
Who the hell is Tucker?
I think of him as thee "Magister Ludi" , the master of gladiators. The opening segment of his show is the greatest spectacle on chatter TV. He really lays the 2X4 to his hapless opponents with impeccable varsity geek debate etiquette. He's actually the only TV segment I bother to watch any more. Morituri Salutans.
No Pardons reply:
Whatever you're smoking, ingesting, drinking, snorting, shooting up with, it's way too strong for you and you're seeing and hearing that which isn't there. Tucker NEVER lays a glove on ANY of his libtard/far lefty "guests" at all. They, OTOH, eat his lunch, punch him in the gut, slam him into a locker, and then force him, HEAD DOWN, into a waste filled toilet bowl.
I don’t advocate killing, of course. Our current gov’t leaders know best. If that is the course they choose, I have full trust and faith in them. It may not be fluffy and sweet actions to soothe the easily ruffled, but necessary gov’t action to ensure the safety of the citizenry.
Hmmm...”attack and insult and impugn”!
LOL...Someone been stealing your stuff, NP?
First of all, I have to ask...how many times, if ever, have you told your parents and other old relatives, how much you blame them for EVERY BAD THING?
You're obviously old enough to be part of those whom you blame for the mess and NOT any kind of part of a solution. Yes, just another contradiction, in a long list of them.
I wasn't alive 75 years ago, so blaming me for whatever you imagine I did back then is VERY funny. Also, looking backwards, with a jaundice eye, the sensibilities of 2017, and not understanding what people were thinking and worrying about, in 1942, when we were in the midst of WW II, is irrational.
When I was first learning to "count noses" and the ins and outs of politics, there was no such thing as a "ROCKEFELLER REPUBLICAN". Yest another contradictory statement on your part, as you first attempted to guesstimate my age, by far too many years and then, guess at making me younger. LOL
If you're still smarting over what was said to you during the primaries, then obviously you weren't for President Trump.
I shan't keep posting about every single contradiction and/or completely incorrect statements. You are stuck in your own little bubble and can't see what you're saying; even when you agree with what I posted.
One thing that must be said, however, is that what you claim to be doing is a lot less than those older than you did, to halt the downward spiral and still do. But perhaps you'll wake up to that, some day.
Since you claim that you are educating yourself and then spreading the facts to others, I would suggest that you at least attempt to get actual FACTS, instead of babbling on with suppositions and assumptions, which you fill your posts with, first. Also, try to at least understand that in the past, just like today, there's not a whole lot that the average person can do about many of the things you are incensed about.
Also, you need to educate yourself about crazy child rearing fads, which have existed for well over 100 years ( for the average populace; the wealthy and in Europe, throw in the aristios...it has existed for several 1oos of years ) and which still are going strong today.
Then there is the fact that most colleges and universities were NOT hotbeds of COMMIE propaganda/institutions of indoctrination, until well into the '70s.
I'm glad that you care so much, but playing the blame game won't get you anywhere. Neither will calling others names, when you are what you call others. Oh...and you must also realize that just because someone is alive at the time that something happens, doesn't mean that they really know or understand the event/s. Just a few helpful hints....
You laugh, because it's the only thing left to you since I pegged you exactly for who and what you are, Hermit. You're not the only one around here with a long memory. And not to mention, coming from you, you do a really lousy job of trolling. You're just not with it. You're past your sell by date. You really should have more dignity about yourself. Especially for someone of such an advanced age. But who am I kidding, I'm talking to someone who I accurately pegged as enjoying the low brow humor that society offers. I guess its true that the elderly regress to childhood.
First of all, I have to ask...how many times, if ever, have you told your parents and other old relatives, how much you blame them for EVERY BAD THING?
If you must know I blame them for the same thing. I've had this conversation with my father, "Where the hell were you when this was going on?" and I get the same answer that I get from most people I've asked that question, "I wasn't really paying attention; let Governor Reagan or President Nixon deal with it." I can actually accept that explanation to a certain extent, because intellectualism wasn't a high priority back then but it doesn't change the fact they failed. Which is why today even the younger people aren't going to totally put their faith in Trump, the way war babies and boomers put their faith in Reagan and Nixon. Despite all the good he will probably do. Politicians come and go. Ideas are more enduring.
You're obviously old enough to be part of those whom you blame for the mess and NOT any kind of part of a solution. Yes, just another contradiction, in a long list of them.
A contradiction in your own mind. Because you don't know a damn thing about me. While you were off doing whatever Eastern Establishment Republicans were doing, going to cocktail parties or whatever, I was in the trenches fighting this crap in college in the late 90s as Student Body President. Reading Ayn Rand and the Gulag Archipelago. Hell I even picked up Nietzsche just for the hell of it. Writing articles for the student newspaper warning of the dangers of political correctness when most of the country didn't have a clue what that was.
I was also inviting speakers to campus and orchestrating town hall debates for candidates of local and county political office. I did all this in order to educate my fellow students on this crap. I'm sorry Alinsky wasn't on my radar back then. But he sure as hell wasn't on yours when he was your contemporary. Another failure of the establishment Republican class to ascertain the scope of the threat.
Actually it's sad. For all of the lofty notions you proclaim for yourself, you did very little and know even less. And don't talk to me about WWII, my paternal grandfather was at Pearl Harbor and my maternal grandfather was a flight engineer ferrying shot up aircraft to the factories for repair. This isn't about WWII. This is about a complete failure of the conservative movement post-WWII. You and your contemporaries failed to weed out the Adlai Stevenson's of the world that allowed the Commies to gobble up half the globe and then let them introduce their Marxist poison into our society. Shoot we can even go back to the Rosenbergs if you want to talk about failure.
When I was first learning to "count noses" and the ins and outs of politics, there was no such thing as a "ROCKEFELLER REPUBLICAN". Yest another contradictory statement on your part, as you first attempted to guesstimate my age, by far too many years and then, guess at making me younger. LOL
Well, since the Rockefeller wing of the Republican party began in 1942 with Dewey and ended with Goldwater's defeat of Rockefeller for the '64 nomination then by your own admission your 'count noses' strategy (a phrase you are so in love with) predates that movement. Which makes it, by simple mathematics, at least 75 years old. It's time to face reality. You are frozen in time, and whatever calculus you rely is simply not applicable anymore. Heck, I even recall you saying Trump was going to win New York. So it's time for you to hang it up and retire gracefully from pontificating rather than continue making a fool of yourself.
If you're still smarting over what was said to you during the primaries, then obviously you weren't for President Trump.
Nice try. I became a Trump supporter after the nomination. I was initially for Cruz. Oh well. Sue me. But the interesting thing is that I didn't engage in the toxic debate that took place here. But as an observer I saw your behavior and it was reprehensible. You'd think that someone who proclaims to be so cultured would have more poise than what was on display. But, in the end, You were no different that a BLM activist. Truly a stain on your character. And another sign that it's time for you to withdraw gracefully with some semblance of dignity.
I shan't keep posting about every single contradiction and/or completely incorrect statements. You are stuck in your own little bubble and can't see what you're saying; even when you agree with what I posted.
I think the bubble that has been exposed in this discussion, is the one you reside. And yes when you make a coherent point I readily agree. You see it as a contradiction but really It's the difference between intellectual honesty and being an ideologue. And going back to Tucker, you want an ideologue, and I want somebody who is intellectually honest. It's a virtue, but one you don't seem to care for.
One thing that must be said, however, is that what you claim to be doing is a lot less than those older than you did, to halt the downward spiral and still do. But perhaps you'll wake up to that, some day.
Sure. Trump and Bannon are older than I am. What can I say? I'm not President of the United States or his Chief Strategist who sits on the National Security Council. I'm not Attorney General Jeff Sessions or Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. But I will say this, those on the front lines, like the Presidents of Republican Clubs in the UC system are bearing the brunt of this attack. So are the young people wearing Trump hats. These are the people being violently attacked, being pepper sprayed, having rocks thrown at them. And as we learned the lesson of our elders with Reagan and Nixon we cannot rely on Trump to save us. This is the reality on the ground, one that you're not cognizant.
As for the rest of your commentary I'll simply say this. You're not prepared to grasp the enormity of the situation. You have a divided country the likes of which we have not seen since 1861. You have what is essentially a counter-coup being played out against Trump by the deep state that you helped invent. Oh how you GOPe'rs loved the neo-cons and the Bill Kristol's of the world, until you smartened up and changed your mind.
You have fascists roaming the streets re-enacting their version of Kristallnacht and because those of the previous generations failed to put down the rioting they faced, and then by the same token turned around and surrendered their children to those same infiltrated Marxist institutions we face this threat again.
And as for the child-rearing strategies of the 70's, yes they failed. It's akin to the Catholic Church saying it was possible to rehabilitate pedophile priests because the psychiatrists said it was curable. The AMA and the APA: Just more examples of institutions that were allowed to be infiltrated with their Marxist Jungian crap. Because establishment conservatism was off doing something else and wasn't minding the store. I suppose I can concede, "but hey we were out there killing commies" but that's of little comfort.
So yes, I play the blame game. And why? And why you specifically? Because you bill yourself as the sage of all things political. You hoisted yourself up on your own petard and it's important that people know how you failed. Because it's important to know how we got here. I'm not going to whitewash history. Because guess what? We have to deal with it now. We're seeing it being played out on the streets today. While the rest of you run off to retirement or the retirement home we're left to clean up the mess and it's not going to be pretty. It's going to be ugly and violent. You got a lot of pissed off young people on both sides and they will fight.
You might consider all that hyperbole, but then all of you have to do is turn on Tucker and hear what's being said.
