I had a GSD who was a relative of ‘Manhattan’. Would have been a top quality show dog except for having long hair. Dumb as a box of rocks but sweet.

watched last night and was rooting for the Maltese (we lost our beloved Maltese Maggie in October. We kept her hair shorter than the show dogs)...the face of the Maltese last night brought tears to my eyes...

Lost interest when the Basset Hound finished second in the hound group last night. We Basset owners are the Cubs fans of the dog world; our noble breed has only won the hound group three times in 87 years at Westminster, and never won Best in Show.
I’ve lived long enough to witness some genuine miracles; the Cubs winning the World Series; the Red Sox winning it twice and even the Saints taking the Super Bowl. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll live long enough to see a Basset win Best in Show at Westminster.
I think our best hope is petitioning for reclassification in the terrier group.
