From the sounds of how she is spending the money, she’s almost at a point of where she was before.
One of my fav lines from my dad: “some people would complain if they were hanged with a new rope “
Not only that, but the poor girl is so plain looking.
Becoming very rich when you’re very young can be a curse.
Becoming rich at any age, as a matter of fact.
Suing the lottery folks won’t fix it.
What she found out was that some friends and some family are just there for the cash.
When the cash is gone, many of them will be too.
How long will $1.25 million last after purchasing 2 homes, a Range Rover, traveling the globe, and getting cosmetic surgery?
And then I'd have a bunch of new problems.
The money didn’t ruin her life. She made dumb choices.
$1.25 million isn’t all that much. Gone in a flash if there’s no discipline.
Not many people could live on that over any length of time.
Weird. Unexpected and unearned wealth harmed me
So I’m suing to get even more unexpected and unearned wealth.
My favorite ‘Lotto Riches to Poor House’ is the clown in California who won millions and took the 25 year payout. He did the usual stupid stuff, houses, cars, fast women, slow horses and then found his annual check did not cover his payments. Sold his future earnings on a present value basis. He then decided that his experience was valuable and decided to be a financial advisor to future winners.
Whatever happens,
It is not her fault!
At times it feels like winning the lottery has ruined my life. I thought it would make it 10 times better but its made it 10 times worse, she moaned to the paper.
I wish I had no money most days. I say to myself, My life would be so much easier if I hadnt won, she said.
Just give the money to me, and your problem is solved.
She did not even have to accept the money.
Something to learn from the movie “Groundhog Day”, if you win the lottery. Spend some money on piano lessons, and learning other technical skills or go to a trade school. Buy some tools and learn how to use them. Even if you run out of money, you will have become a smarter person, a more skilled person, and will be employable or able to generate more income. Lottery money doesn’t last long, and you’ll need to generate income for the rest of your life.
did her parents not raise her to be ready, or help her make good choices after the win? she was still a teen.
9no i didn’t click on article to read)
Is she suing for more money? Won’t that make her more miserable?
She should just give back the $1.25 mil-—with interest.
Then she’ll be back in happyville.
How can she feel empty inside with all that silicone? ;)
Seriously, the best lottery win was the financial advisor from Santa Barbara. Don’t remember his exact job but he was in some financial or investment biz. He played his $20 every week. He was married with two adult kids. When he actually won the lottery, he and his wife both kept their jobs. They fixed up the house they already loved. They each got a brand new car (but not too fancy). They decided that every year, they would take a vacation wherever they wanted. The rest was invested and saved. That is the way to handle a lottery win.
I’ve been told that going from Rich to poor is devastating and leads to a life of many regrets. Maybe even suicide for some. But there is a type of person that can rally themselves and step back up and dust themselves off and make it back to big earnings.
Those type of people don’t sue lottery offices.
Tell you what, I'm here for you. When you get that money, spare yourself the burden you just experienced. Send it to me. I'll be more than happy to bear the unpleasantness so you won't have to.
She certainly likes to show off her boobs.
A million isn’t that much these days. Even if she invested it all very wisely, it would only generate probably 5-8 percent... that’s $50-$80K per year. Yes, you can live on that... but not party like a billionaire and last for long at all.
