Walt Disney World is increasing single-day tickets at certain times of the year and setting expiration dates on tickets in hopes of preventing overcrowding during its parks' busiest times. Company officials said Saturday that single-day ticket prices are either staying the same, or are increasing no more than $5 under the new price structure for its Florida theme parks.

This would be fine, if there weren’t the ubiquitous social engineering/redistribution scheme going on in the background. We all know that if you have lots of money, you can buy your way in, and that is as it should be. We also all know that if you have been classified as somehow low in the social order, you can get significant subsidies; if you’re an illegal immigrant for example, or on food stamps, or from a bad neighborhood, or of a particular skin color, or have AIDS, or are an addict, or a criminal, etc. This, should not be.
If you fall between these two extremes; if you are middle class; it hurts to pay the one time you go. If you are below middle class, but above underclass, you simply are not able to go, ever.
Boycott Disney.
My son and I spent Christmas in Orlando, and I was completely unaware of any special tickets for evening Christmas events at Disney World.
I was disappointed at the lack of Christmas displays. There were Christmas decorations around the park, and they were selling enough Christmas merchandise. But, for the most part, the rides were not decorated. This is a huge difference from Disneyland, which we visited a couple of years ago. “It’s a Small World” at Disneyland was decorated for Christmas from beginning to end and was truly breath-taking. But “It’s a Small World” at Disney World looked no different than at other times of the year.
Raise ticket prices as much as you want, Disney.
It still won’t make up for the loss of revenue due to your pissing-off almost half of your customer base.
Disney parks were better in the late 90s. I think they lost focus on park quality and families as the integrated abc and espn.
They have to get money to pay those major league contracts that ESPN entered into.
The “Very Merry Christmas Party” has never been included in the daily admission price. At least not since the 1990’s. They clear the park and then let the VMCP ticket holders in.
Gotta pay for that crap ESPN channel.
If you’re staying for a week you can hunt around and find some pretty good deals, and it makes going to WDW cost about the same as going to any other “fancy” vacation such as a nice beach, a lake cabin, or almost any big city. I have priced out different vacation multiple times but we have ended up at WDW because it wasn’t going to cost any more to go there after I found some good deals. Sticker price at WDW is astronomical. At the moment we’re not happy with WDW’s anti-American-worker actions, among other anti-family-friendly values, so we’re skipping WDW for a while. I’ve already got our vacation planned for some US history-related locations, and I got some really good deals, including a couple of nights at a Great Wolf Lodge for the kiddos, but the cost of it all is not much less than a week at WDW would have been.
Looks like I’m saving even more money by not taking the family to Disney Lind.
Well, I am glad that I have never gone there. Never intend to.
I’m not saying Disney needs to update the park, but they just renamed “Tomorrow Land” to “Yesterday Land”.
I remember when it was $15. :-)
Lol... I remember as a child the dilemma of choosing what ride to go on with my last ‘E Ticket’.
Pirates of the Caribbean is still my fav. :-)
Disney Parks are not losing revenue. They are actually raising prices to reduce the number of people in the parks.
Special events, such as the Very Merry Christmas and the Not So Scary Halloween, have always been more. They close the park so only those who hold the tickets can enter.
Inverse relationship-
Ticket prices up
Profits down
Just like taxes
Sounds like discrimination
If I want to visit Disney World I go to Youtube and watch videos ,it’s free . when will Disney stop people from taking videos and pictures ?
