A New Jersey boy has become the first openly transgender member of the Boy Scouts.
Just one week after the Boy Scouts of America changed its policy to allow transgender children to join, Joe Maldonado donned his uniform as the newest member of Pack 20 in Maplewood.
'I am accepted,' said the nine-year-old on Tuesday night, as his mother fought back tears.
The youngster had previously been banned from Pack 87 in Secaucus because his birth certificate stated that he was born a girl.

Shut down the Boy Scouts.
That is the problem with private/public partnerships, which is what the Boy Scouts are.
Eventually one tends to corrupt the other.
In this case, the public part was the lever used to corrupt the private part.
Really sad. I had some association with the Boy Scouts over the years. They were a fine organization. It has been sad to see them corrupted.
The epitome of parental abuse.
I doubt that SHE is "accepted" by all of the boys and by many of their parents.
Kiss the Boy Scouts good bye....any parents who allow their sons to be Scouts now, should be tried and jailed for child abuse!
This poor girl has been so abused it’s simply evil.
This is the story of yet an unhinged mother, who didn't the the hoped for sex she wanted, with the pregnancy and pushed that kid into being something other than SHE was born as !

I’m sorry but I never knew a transgender child growing up. This is made up deviancy. Kids can be tom boys and effeminate but still the gender their born. Really stupid.

When John Hopkins was doing the surgery a male candidate had first to live two years as a woman and they only did the surgery on adults. So I wonder to what extent this nine year old made her own decision compared to fulfilling some hallucination driving an adult into perversity?

The Oregon Department of Education presented their policy interpretation allowing men to enter women’s bathrooms and lockers rooms based on current gender feelings. This asymmetrical approach results in a random walk through reflective life. When comforting lights of popular expressions drive decisions, no opportunity remains to consider insights such that as from John Hopkins.
At one time their Sexual Behaviors Consultation Unit conducted candidates through a lengthy preparation process culminating with gender reassignment surgery. Study caused them to question whether any emotional resolution was achieved and they eliminated the practice in 1979. Dr. Paul R. McHugh says, “that transgenderism is a mental disorder that merits treatment….These policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.”
Shouldn’t transgenderism first be assessed as a medical issue? Women are terribly uncomfortable with a mercurial revelation that they believe violates their inherent natural right to feel safe and private in their persons. This policy provides many the opportunities to indulge in deviant impulses. The policy thrusts a few into intimate political theater where they portray a feeble caricature of a woman, but without evidence of benefit to their psychological condition. Considering John Hopkins’ experience with reassignment surgery, shouldn’t this radical transformation of society await careful review?

Most boy scout camping facilities only have boys bathrooms. And what happens when little Miss Faulkeroy goes to play in the lake with the rest of the boys - will she wear a woman’s swimsuit - thereby signaling she really is different? or go topless, thereby signaling she is really different ? Mentally ill mothers just don’t think these things through.

quite a few girls were tom boys when I was young I was a bit myself but we always knew we were girls and no girl I know of stayed “manish” into their teens...
but those were the days when girls wore pretty dresses and looked like girls...

What a way to go down in the history books.
Born with female equipment. Eventually: needing hormones to create maleness; implants for breasts; operation(s) to remove/convert male organs to female. Physically female in every way. How can the cause be anything but mental/psychological? Perhaps with some outside influences.
