While Gaga did indeed do the leap without a stunt double's help, this part of the show was performed in advance.
After it aired, the cameras cut to Gaga somersaulting as she soared swiftly through the air to a podium to continue the show.
For those inside the arena the show began with Gaga hanging from her guide wires, in the dark.
Footage shot from fans shows a motionless Gaga suspended from the wires. Suddenly a spotlight shines on her, and she starts her descent.
Intel which was behind the drones used in the pre-recorded feat blamed the need to plan the stunt in advance on the unpredictable weather.
'So theres a lot of weather and environment (issues),' Natalie Cheung, general manager for Intel Drones, told USA Today.
'In February, you dont know what it will be like during Super Bowl day. Wed hate to plan all this and, if the wind speeds are too high or if its raining and the roof is closed, no one can see this spectacular show. So our creative team as well as the Super Bowl creative team felt this would be best to be filmed.
'From a logistics and creative perspective, its a bit hard for her [Lady Gaga] to go from the roof all the way down to the floor of the stadium.'
Gaga said the idea to start the show on the roof came from her little sister Natali.
'She said, "I know let's suspend you in the air!"'.

Additionally she performed exquisitely showing a host of talent and skill in a wholesome program.
Finally she ignored leftist demands for lip service.
Gaga wins hands down.
The roof was closed 90 before kick-off. Once it is closed it cannot be opened again during a game.
Keepin’ it real, she did what she said she would. She provided a high-energy and well choreographed performance that kept the audience engaged. Did I like it? I couldn’t understand the words to her songs, and I don’t find constant sexual gyrations being passed of as dancing entertaining. But that’s me. I get it that most people appreciated the show she put on.
She was awful.
I dont find constant sexual gyrations being passed of as dancing entertaining
This is where we differ. I have almost always found this very entertaining
I'm hoping you're kidding......
The issue with the drones was prerecorded due to FAA restrictions............
All in all, she had a great performance..........
Didn’t they show the roof closing again after halftime? or was that prerecorded too?
That's it.......
I bought my first Audi last May and am still seething about the Audi commercial. I love the car, but it has certainly soured me on the brand.
Come on dude.EVERYONE knows the Space Shuttle didn’t disappear. However making Diamond Head disappear, that crap was straight up real man!
I loved it. In all candor, I was ready to turn on her the whole way up to the last note. Pleasantly surprised.
David Copperfield didn’t make a space shuttle disappear. But NASA did. Twice.

It can’t be re-opened during the GAME because of NFL rules about altering conditions. In can be, and was, re-opened and closed again during the HALF TIME.

“Yes, and Daniel Radcliffe didnt actually fly around on a magic broom during the Quidditch game in the first Harry Potter movie.”
Spoiler alert.

“The roof was closed 90 before kick-off. Once it is closed it cannot be opened again during a game.”
