Wow. Hard to believe and he was only 69, but what a lot of living he did in that time.
Still love listening to Live at the Fillmore East, 1971.
There were the original Jam Band. When they were altogether in their prime, they were magical.
God Speed Butch and thanks for the music, and the hours of entertainment.

Allman Brothers put on one of the best live shows.
Butch Trucks was a big part of that.

I would assume he is/was Derek Trucks father? Saw Derek perform a couple of times. Fantastic musician.
RIP Butch. You were one of the best.

This a bummer. Idlewild South, Live at the Filmore East, Brothers and Sisters, Eat A Peach, all those early Allmans Brothers albums are so great.
Now hopefully Butch can jam out with Duane and Berry once again.

"Still love listening to Live at the Fillmore East, 1971. " I caught Zeppelin there in 1969.
I've read that Greg Allman is uncredited on many famous records. They say he'd show up when asked, play his heart out and leave with a bag of cash.
Layla was one of those songs.

"There were the original Jam Band."
Saw them twice on New Year's Eve - not the same year, though. (Once in Orlando FL '75 and again in New Haven CT '79).

RIP Butch. I loved the Allman Band.
I do wish XM would stop promoting how proud Greg was to get Jimmy Carter elected. They are not helping.

Sad for us all. Glad his music is living on still in band and through his son and his wife, who are incredible. Prayers ...
Thanks for posting.
