Fans of Will & Grace are in for a treat. It was confirmed on Wednesday that the sitcom is coming back to NBC with 10 episodes. It comes after the original cast, including Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally, reprised their original roles for an election-themed PSA in September last year, 10 years after the show went off the air.

Q. Why is “gay marriage” now the law of the land?

A. Because twenty years ago people let their six-year olds watch this show.

You got it. This is why the Russians made it illegal to preach this crap to kids.

Truthfully, I saw a picture a few days ago of Messing bad mouthing Trump and mistook it for a flattering picture of Rosie O.

There’s very little I’m turning the idiot box on for and this show will not be one.

Some treat. You'd think for a show in this much demand there would be reruns somewhere...

So true! My adult daughter got me into watching two new TV shows this fall, "This Is Us" and "Timeless". They both had some historical aspects that I enjoy, and I was watching them every week. Then around the tenth episode, they both introduced the gay card, as it was revealed that two characters (one from each show) that had been on the shows the whole time without it being mentioned, were actually gay. Both are NBC shows. I believe this is the new trend, to not have any gay characters at the start so you get hooked on the show, and then slowly introduce them. Needless to say, I stopped watching the shows.

But the worst one was "The Great Christmas Light Fight" which I watch with my small boys. One of the last episodes of the year featured a man and his so-called husband. At least those other two shows are adult shows, but now they throw it into supposedly family shows. My conclusion is basically that I just can't watch any TV with my children that I have not pre-screened. Why should I allow them to advertise a lifestyle to my children that has been statistically proven to lead to depression? As well as being expressly forbidden in the Bible. It's this new stealth method that is the worst.

I’ll stick with watching “The Middle” and reruns of “The Middle”. It is the only show to which I can somewhat relate.

Will & Grace is an American sitcom created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan about the relationship between best friends Will Truman (Eric McCormack), a gay lawyer, and Grace Adler (Debra Messing), a straight interior designer. It was broadcast on NBC from September 21, 1998 to May 18, 2006, for a total of eight seasons. During its original run, Will & Grace was one of the most successful television series with gay principal characters.[1]

Despite initial criticism for its particular portrayal of homosexual characters, it went on to become a staple of NBC’s Must See TV Thursday night lineup and was met with continued critical acclaim. It was ensconced in the Nielsen top 20 for half of its network run. The show was the highest-rated sitcom among adults 18–49, from 2001 and 2005. Throughout its eight-year run, Will & Grace earned 16 Emmy Awards and 83 nominations. All four stars each received an Emmy Award throughout the series, making it one of only three sitcoms in the award’s history to achieve this feat. In 2014 the Writers Guild of America placed the sitcom at number 94 in their list of the 101 Best Written TV series of all time.[2]

Since the final episode aired, the sitcom has been credited with helping and improving public opinion of the LGBT community, with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden commenting that the show “probably did more to educate the American public” on LGBT issues “than almost anything anybody has ever done so far”.[3

The false characterization of homos being “just like everyone else” with successful jobs and relationships was so overplayed. It’s more likely that strange men would have been in their homes for one-time “visits” and meth use would have been a common occurrence.

Hollywood’s not much for truth-in-advertising.

Another example of the movie/tv industry having no new good ideas. They just bring back old shows. Maybe next NBC will be back Cheers. I certainly want to know if Sam Malone still owns the bar.

Give “Last Man Standing” a shot - pretty entertaining. Reruns every evening on CMT and Hallmark channels.

I’ll stick with KDramas. Currently watching “Legend of the Blue Sea” , and I’ve just started watching “Goblin.”

The Hallmark Motive and Murder channel (HMM) has Colombo reruns every day at 11am, which you could record. I binged watched them last spring everyday. I love the iconic late 60s-early 70s details of those shows. Same with Rockford, which is on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

My prediction: it will flop

Ditto.

Mrs WBill was an X-Files fan. She lived and died by the series. Saw all the XFiles movies in the theater...even the execrable last one, where I walked out and said, "Well, I'm 2 hours closer to death....".

The 6-show Xfiles reboot that just happened? "Excited" didn't cover it. She was about ready to pop. After much hoopla and anticipation, she watched the first one, said, "Hunh. I remembered this being better. Hopefully next week will be an improvement!". Watched the 2nd one, equally as bad. Tuned out of the 3rd one about halfway through, and I don't think that she even bothered with the rest.

Moral to the story? Sometimes, it's better just to leave memories as you remember them. "Will And Grace" will likely be no different.

More Hollow-wood depletion of ideas.

They have difficulty with new shows being successful, so they resurrect and revamp old ‘hit’ programs.

There are rumors of a revised edition of Married, with Children being considered. Netflix has already produced a new Hispanic One Day At a Time sitcom.

They did that this year on WB with Supergirl and Arrow, too.

They are also slipping in the extras. They had a desk cop on NCIS:LA the other night on CBS.
