he famously reclusive 34-year-old heiress to In-N-Out's fortune has offered rare insight into her personal life in a new video.
Lynsi Snyder, the billionaire president of the California-based burger chain and granddaughter of its founders, discusses her four marriages, the death of her father, and her past drug use in the 10-minute video, which was posted Wednesday to the website IAmSecond.com.
She said her father, Guy Snyder, battled drug addiction and was in and out of rehab facilities from the time she was five years old. He later had an affair, and her parents divorced when she was 12.
"It was really hard for me to see him fail and be weak because I knew how bad he wanted to be a good husband and good father," she said.
Around the same time, in 1993, her father took control of In-N-Out from his brother, who died in a plane crash.
Her father led the company until he died of a prescription-drug overdose in 1999.
"My world shattered," she said. "After my dad died there was no way I was going to be alone."
Immediately following his death, Snyder married her first husband when she was 18 years old.
"It wasn't right," she said. "I paid the price with a divorce and jumped right into the arms of someone else."

I have to presume that someone else is actually running the business. Otherwise, she would likely have run it into the ground by now.
The real genius behind this company’s success was the Snyder son who was killed in a private jet crash due to air turbulence from the large passenger jet in front of it as it approached John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA.
As to the burgers, this former East Coast resident, now a 47 year resident of CA, thinks these burgers are OK but no great shakes. The fact that native Californians are head over heels in love with these burgers is mystifying.

I guess this is interesting.
Hmmmm, I wonder why the double post as I only clicked the mouse once, at which time the double post appeared immediately.
Very interesting story, and would make a good book or movie.
What I don’t get is why is she telling all this to us strangers? What has she to gain by it, unless she wants to inspire others coming from a divorced home. Perhaps she now is ready for her close up. I’m sure the In & Out Board of Directors is reading each word and evaluating each piece of dirty linen.
Probably not why the chain got its name, but ...
What the hell is it about people that makes them want to air their dirty laundry and failings of their departed relatives. Sick.
Turbulence in the intertubes, perhaps?
Her uncle’s fatal plane crash happened on front of me while I was on the 55 freeway going home. Took out part of the Honda dealership.
Now I'm a bit more selective. As you say, In & Out is nothing special. It's inexpensive, and In & Out's are clean. I think this is why people love them so much: no fear of E. Coli.
There are so many other options that are more filling, more tasty, and at a decent price.
The fries at In & Out are tasteless. Among the worst of the fast food chains.
But try telling that to an In & Out cultist and you will get the Evil Eye.
We lived in CA. DH is native Californian and loves In-N-Out. As for me... not a fan.
What the hell is it with Polyannas who get upset that reality intrudes on their cloud?
I had an overnight transit at LAX, sought out an I&O burger and was underwhelmed.
On a recent trip to Texas we saw an I&O in San Antonio. We stopped in thinking perhaps the one near LAX was having a bad day.
I’ve had my last one.
Galaxy Note 7?
The burgers are good, mainly because of their fresh vegetables, toasted buttered buns and still sizzling meats.
The hamburgers have a very distinctive aroma, found only at that restaurant, just as McDonald’s burgers have a distinctive texture and aroma. However, the In & Out fries are a big nothing. The fries taste like deep fried corrugated card board. After ordering them one time, I no longer order them ever. I get my fries from McDonald or KFC.
Two last notes; This woman looks a lot like one of The Donald’s daughters. The daughter of who he named the Mar-Largo
Resort after.
The heiress of In& Out Burger gives me the impression that she’s very lonely. I would think that the stuff she’s talking about, relationship problems, would usually be shared with another woman friend. Maybe when you get that rich, a good friend is more valuable than the biggest diamond, and twice as rare.
Lisa Marie Presley seems to have lived the same sort of life.
Ain't that the truth. Not many people out there like them. Why they haven't changed them is beyond me. My kids and their friends either hit up The Habit or Chick-Fil-A.
Agree.
It’s a double double.
