Ric Flair has a New Year's message to the world: deadlift this.
The WWElegend is 67 but on Wednesday posted a video to Twitter that shows him deadlifting 400 pounds with the accompanying words: "I.Will.Never.Retire."
After finishing the impressive feat of strength, Flair gives more of a "whoa!" than a solid"woo!", his trademark.
Still, the video drew a range of responses from fellow wrestlers, past and present, as well thousands of others.
Of course, the "Nature Boy" is never one to miss an opportunity. Hours after the video went viral, Flair was pitching merch from his online store.
Rolex wearin, diamond ring wearin, kiss stealin, limousine ridin, jet flyin, son of gun, havin a hard time holdin his alligators down.
Woo !
In order to be the man, you have to beat the man.
Only wrestler to be inducted into the HOF twice.
You deadlift with your back bent like that?
“To be The Man, you gotta beat the man and I’m sayin, WHOO!, right here in Nashville, Tennessee Pal I’m The Man.” - Rick Flair
As someone that at one time could dead lift 535 pounds, the answer is absolutely not. Lift with the knees. I would not be surprised to hear he is bedridden after doing that.
Man, not good form, I think I need to go lay down after watching that.
Hogan - Flair. 1 more match.
“deadlifting”
I wish they’d come up with a better name for that.
One does when One is a freak of nature-
Not if you want to be able to get out of bed the next day.
Neither will agree to drop to the other straight up, one on one.
Yawn, almost 70 and just got done with my workout finishing dumbbell bench presses 5 sets average 20 reps with 80 pounders!
I had a buddy about his age blow out both knees at the same time lifting hard. And it was nothing as crazy as what Flair did on that video. He’s in serious danger doing that crap at his age.
Since he can pull 405 stiff legged, he could probably pull 480 with proper form.
I would not be surprised to hear he is bedridden after doing that.
And using a walker for the rest of his life.
He was on my flight from LA years ago when my best friend and I were working First Class together. She and I had so much fun that we got to giggling before the meal service and he came up and good naturally demanded to know what was so funny. It was a little risqué so we didn’t share!!! He was a lot of fun though!! I shared some vegetables I grew in my garden with him and he was truly appreciative!
I’m 74.5 leg press 365lbs
Best of all my bone density went up 6 percent in 2.5 years
