We had to do the same to our wonderful 16 year old pup this past January. It is so terribly hard to do.

So sorry to hear this. I had to put my Cookie, the Cookie Monster, down this past June. She was only 10 but had a cancerous tumor in her face. I miss her terribly but we will be getting another little girl soon. It will heal our hearts to have another little girl to love.

I understand your sadness. My younger sister just lost her sweet Ellis, a Katrina refugee, who was left at the Veterinary office after all the other cats and dogs had been adopted out. He looked like a boxer-pit cross, and folks were just scared, I guess. They shouldn't have been, he was the goofiest, sweetest doggie, and he might lick you to death, but he'd never bite you.
They weren't quite sure how old he was when they got him, maybe a year, or two, but he lived the life of Reilly for the past 11 years, even during the past two years when his allergies and hives started giving him trouble. My sister is just heartbroken, because he was her 'baby' for the past 11 years. My b-i-l always joked that if there is such a thing as reincarnation, he wanted to come back as her dog!

What a beautiful pup I am so sorry for your loss :( I have two little furry babies myself they are my WORLD..Nemo has a collapsed trachea problem which has made things difficult but we are doing everything in our power to help him so at least he has a few years left I cant imagine my life without my lil guys..a pet dying just breaks my heart :(
