As I get older I attend fewer concerts. I wish they began at 4pm instead of 10pm.

Here's my list:
The Mekons
Wynonna and the Big Noise
Pere Ubu
KT Tunstall
Hiss Golden Messenger
Kris Kristofferson
Valerie June
Dry Branch Fire Squad

Nobody can replace Glenn Shorrock. LBR has virtually nobody in the band from even the 80s. In 1981 Glenn, original lead singer, left the band.

Bryan Adams is cool but not good was him canceling his tour stop in Charlotte, North Carolina over the Bathroom law.

Ticketmaster had that summer sale where tixs were $20 no taxes no fees. So I saw joe, Walsh, bad company, steely Dan, goo goo dolls, weezer, collective soul, Dave Matthews, tool and pearl jam

The dead guy, Jeff called him Achmed the Dead Terrorist.

Oh yeah, KidzBop was also one of the concerts. That one was kind of annoying.

Lynerd Skynerd at the casino in Durant, Oklahoma. Best concert I’ve seen in years.

Steely Dan at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Last year was better - Paul McCartney at the Times Union Center, Aerosmith there as well.

I work at local venues that host concerts. That being said, most “headliners” aren’t worth $5.00. Especially what passes as “country”. What a bunch of crap.

Best show I saw this year was Lettuce.

They were originally named “Wild Country” or something like that...They played a lot in Myrtle Beach at the beginning...

I worked with a guy from Ft Payne, AL...he said around town, everyone treated them the same as before they became famous...

The Forbert show in Ithaca was the one to which I went. Before the show we ran into Steve eating at the Boatyard and got his autograph. Nice guy.

And you reminded me: I actually did catch the end of the DBT show that evening. Forbert’s show was early enough (and ended early enough) I made it down to the Haunt for the last set.

They were good but I have to say I preferred Forbert.

Saw BB King when I was stationed.. in Indianapolis and I was maybe 10 feet from him. He was adding table sugar to his glass of Coca-Cola.

That is the funniest damned thing I've read in weeks!

Peter Gabriel and Sting in Lake Tahoe... great show. I expected one to perform, then a break, then the other. Instead, they prepared an integrated show - sharing their bands, singing lead on one another’s songs and singing together on many.

I adore them both. Saw Peter Gabriel live twice back in the 70s when he was lead singer with Genesis and Phil Collins was "just the drummer." Gabriel is a magnificent showman. Love, love, love Sting's weaving of traditional airs and riffs into his music.

I have always been a very accepting person of other cultures, peoples and genres, and I have music from around the world and many corners of America; but when I look at my most-played pop albums, they are almost all Brits or Irish. Annie Lennox, Coldplay, The Chieftans, Adele, Beatles, Bowie, Celtic Woman, etc. My people are here more than 400 years, but DNA is powerful. This is my favorite Christmas album:

Thanks for sharing. I will check out Sting’s Christmas album for sure (appreciate the link).

I had always liked both men’s music (and their former groups) but was blown away by this combined performance.
