Lest you thought Obamaphones were mythical, here are some shots I snapped in California yesterday.

Will the Obamaphone program go away?
Now what you don’t know, is that they’re programmed to explode a week after Obama leaves office.
Yet they have nothing to do with Obama’s administration.
As I suspected.
Let’s take a quick look back at the actual origins of the Obama Phone program. You may be surprised to learn that it all began long before cell phones were invented.
In the 1980s, during the Reagan administration, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) created the Universal Access Initiative. The goal was to “promote the availability of quality services at just, reasonable and affordable rates for all consumers.” After years of study, they proposed what we now call the Obama Phone.
In the beginning, the Obama Phone offered subsidized phone service to Americans who were living at or below the poverty level. Please remember, this was in the early-to-mid-1980s, long before cell phones were invented, so this subsidy covered landlines only.
Later, the FCC introduced the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which proposed the Universal Service Fund requiring all providers of telecommunications services to contribute to a fund that would be used to increase nationwide access to advanced telecommunications services. The goal, according to the FCC, was to “advance the availability of such services to all consumers, including those in low income, rural, insular, and high-cost areas at rates that are reasonably comparable to those charged in urban areas.”
In other words, the FCC recognized that landlines were decreasing in importance as cell phones were increasing in use.
President Bill Clinton quickly signed the Telecommunications Act into law and President George Bush continued the program. President Barack Obama has followed in their footsteps, and there is widespread confidence that succeeding presidents will continue to support the Obama Phone program

They still have pay phones? I haven’t seen one of those in years now.
So they’re Clinton-Bush-Obama phones!!! Both parties vying for the votes.

Yet Obama didn’t invent Executive Orders but he abused them mercilessly.

President trump should deactivate every phone. Then require anyone receiving one to prove citizenship and poverty. The phone MUST be a flip phone with no more than 100 minutes talk time. One per family subject to deactivation if the recipient is engaged in rioting or commits any crime
When the weather is good you can generally find these booths set up in the urban area of Cincinnati. It’s bad enough that they’re handing out the phones but they also run their clients through application process for every fed, state and local assistance program available.
Also, limited ability to send texts, and no ability to send group texts.
Make it harder to organize flash mobs.
Ought to spread that around as a rumor. Might reduce the last minute Obama mischief a bit.
Obamaphones have been responsible for countless riots and destruction of property. If you have to give the low lifes phones, make them call only and no internet data or social media on them.
Some of those phones are better than mine. I was helping a friend who is an investor of homes and a construction company. Anyway, he got 2 guys who lives in his rooming house and those guys got Obama phone. They were hard working guys.
