I am blessed to be running Windows 10 Version 10.0.10586, Build 10586, and have customized it a quite a bit, but under power management (powercfg.cpl) there are processor settings which i never saw before, though i have been there before and adjusted things.
"
I am looking for for Max performance (and still be able to Sleep), and made sure the Max. CPU state is 100%, but wondered what the best would be for the rest. I have searched the Internet for the best settings for these new options but saw nothing yet.
Feel free to chip in (pun not intended).

One commenter said “Replace “The Outer Limits” by “Microsoft..” http://www.ghacks.net/2016/08/16/microsoft-to-push-all-in-one-windows-updates/
But see post 16 here http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3507785/posts?page=16#16
Yes, W/10 is not Vista
Windows is a fad.
Someone has stolen my old car; left a note it was obsolete; parked a newer version in the driveway; threw away all my paperwork that was on the dash of my old one; placed the mirrors out on the hood; gives me a light show when the engine starts and makes me guess how to put gas(?) in the little door in the fender!
Not when Big Brother finally tracks you down some day!
You'll be tied up in your sleep and force fed the latest updates, versions, re-visions and changes.
The character O'Brien claims that he, as a member of the Inner Party, can turn off his telescreen (although etiquette dictates only for half an hour at a time). While the programmes could no longer be seen or heard, the screen still functioned as a surveillance device, as after Winston is taken into the Ministry of Love, the audio of his meeting with O'Brien with the telescreen "off" is played back to Winston.
I’m blessed that I don’t have to pay for a junk operating system and overpriced software for it.
UbuntuStudio
Never had Vista. I refused to update from XP until Windows 7, and I bought the Toshiba. From 7 I went to 8, then 8.1, then 10. Then my drive failed and I put 7 on the replacement, then 10. I’ve never had any actual problems upgrading, it’s just the processor is underpowered.
The Surface came with 10, and the phone is just a miniature Surface.
daniel, thanks for thinking of me, but I hope to never use a Windows computer system again on this earth. I spent too much of my life as an unpaid service technician for Microsoft.
:)
I have Agent Ransack and which is better than "Everything" since that does not search within files, so its basically useless for me. And i use Process Hacker instead of TaskKiller.
"In Linux they're usually called "keybindings", it's usually an easy process using the "System Settings" menu. e.g. in Ubuntu & derivatives:"
I know some remapping is possible, but after hours of trying to do the exact remapping i described (CapsLock to ctrl+c and Esc to ctrl+v and NumLock to Esc), i would have to say you need to try it yourself. I think under Fedora i was able to finally do it, but that distro is lacking. Plus there is the illegal codec issue and lack of equal equivalents and malfunctions i always seem to end up with, require searching forums and experimenting. If it were not for Firefox and ApacheOffice (better then Libre) i would not have tired them as long as i did.

I find both helpful - Everything for a fast search and ARansack for searching for text in files.
“CapsLock to ctrl+c and Esc to ctrl+v and NumLock to Esc”

Never tried that particular combo, I’ll have to give it a twirl.

Not sure what you mean there - maybe the “restricted extras”?
I take a pass on Open Office in any OS; Java (like Adobe’s Flash & PDF)is a malware magnet. But I know some people really need it for work reasons.
In the Ubuntu distros, I use Windows themes and icons and so regularly forget that it’s I’m not in Windows - until I need a file and realize it’s on the Windows drive. No problem, tho - you can easily access the Win drive/folders to open, copy or move a file while in Linux.
Here is one of the forums i asked about that on.

/Restricted_formats which are illegal to use without purchasing a license, and thus http://www.fluendo.com/shop/category/end-user-products/

Open Office does not need Java: its optional.

Which MS should do for Linux. There is software to view Linux files from windows but its license is politically correct.

That’s an apt analogy to what Microsoft often does - and especially did with the auto upgrade to Windows 10. Fortunately I use the Enterprise (business) edition of Windoze so I wasn’t eligible for the “free” upgrade (or the incessant prods to upgrade).
Thanks
