I am blessed to be running Windows 10 Version 10.0.10586, Build 10586, and have customized it a quite a bit, but under power management (powercfg.cpl) there are processor settings which i never saw before, though i have been there before and adjusted things.
"
I am looking for for Max performance (and still be able to Sleep), and made sure the Max. CPU state is 100%, but wondered what the best would be for the rest. I have searched the Internet for the best settings for these new options but saw nothing yet.
Feel free to chip in (pun not intended).
So before the criticism start, I would recommend to such that they first install Classic Shell , and also Right Click Context Menu Extender so you can add things it may take longer to find
Besides more details customization apps like AutoHotKey, the White-Tiger/T-Clock is a nice improvement over the standard Widows clock (including showing show seconds).
"
Thank God for such tools and customization, and those that make them. And that includes Firefox, by far the best browser for power users.
I ended up with W/10pro after getting a retail upgrade from XP OEM to Win/8 for 29.00 with a rebate card, and then a free upgrade to 8.1, and then to a new PC (retail allows it), and W/10pro (after replacing the mobo and cpu). But it was a good journey, by God's grace.
Bump for the time when I have to upgrade to Win10 ...
My wife and I were watching Amazon Prime last night and tonight. Last night I was force fed the Anniversary update with many reboots WHILE WATCHING and tonight fed anti-virus and another Windows update with another reboot, which I let shut down, instead.
I like Win10 but probably not quite as much as you.

NEVER sleep on a Wintel O/S. It could be the last thing your PC does.
While I have you techies here I have a question. Do those new Virtual Reality headphones need a certain phone to work? I know nothing about them.
I recommend balanced. If you use the computer and it’s on AC power it will supply full voltage to the cpu and if you walk away for a bit it will down clock and eventually sleep. Honestly you won’t notice the difference in performance.
Well, all I can say to you is that I am pretty sure when you get a new car, you adjust the mirror. 'Course, maybe you don't, I don't know, maybe you whine about it not being set correctly too.
It is the same with a new OS, Operating System, it makes a best guess of how you want things. So if the automatic update annoys you, set it to only update at certain hours or manual. It is just about as fast as adjusting your mirror, and the bonus is the noise goes down too, unless you only whine online. This is the Christmas season, look for solutions, help others, and be happy. And it helps to RTFM or at least the tutorial that pops up when you first install, or go to YouTube, there are countless videos about how to set up Windows to various tastes.
Go forth and adjust.
Go read the FM yourself and tell me TF why “Manual” lets this Fn happen.
Fortunately, instead of taking the upgrade on the hard drive that I have been using in my laptop, I wrote a “factory image” to a new hard drive and let it update to Windows 10. Then I tried to work with it for a month. I had many difficulties associated with Win10 downloading and installing updates with no effective way to completely prevent it. I was able to just pop the original hard drive back in and go back to Windows 7 which at this point is still better for me.
Win 7 here... probably till the day I die.
MacOS 10.12.2 with Win 7 on Bootcamp for MS Access.
Sleep works perfectly in MacOS.
When I start my machine I go straight to update and get that out of the way. The Surface is fast but my 2009 Toshiba is slow. I have a Windows 10 phone and it updates just like the Surface, only faster, because it is faster.
I agree, but (more so under Prot) there is a way to manage this. I only get asked to do updates about twice a month.
And "You can turn off Windows Update by setting the following registry entries (see 326):
Actually mine does so multiple times a day with no problem, though at the beginning after a new install sometimes it would require a reboot (drivers?). It is even hot keyed to do so with one key, and works fine, thank God.
I have that as you might be able to see in the image of the desktop,
I'm using a version of Linux called "Zorin", running the entire OS from just a USB stick. When Win 7 becomes unsupported, I'll drop Win entirely.
I have tried every major and some minor Linux distros, but for me they simply cannot do what i want and can rather easily enable Windows to do.Maybe if i could really write code, but i do not. Even remapping CapsLock to ctrl+c and Esc to ctrl+v (and NumLock to Esc) is easy with with AutoHotKey. With Linux that can take a lot of searching and trying. (keyboard shortcuts is usually limited)
I use advanced, and the Sleep works fine, but wanted to know what the CPU settings mean.
Well, we hope you are not that tied to it! But make sure you have the new operating system from Heaven at least by then.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)
You can still choose which OS to boot from and run under, but only the new one is free of malware and the like, and runs linked to the Cloud.
