Lots of people by now have written pieces, like this very good one by Peter Beinart, explaining that the Electoral College was created precisely to prevent a demagogue from taking office. This was the design even if such a move went against the will of the people. But in this case it wouldn’t even be doing that, as Hillary Clinton won nearly 3 million more votes than Trump. They’ll be joining a long list of people who didn’t do their jobs this past year. The list starts with the Republican Party and Reince Priebus. As Trump went from one outrage to the next in 2015, the Republican Party should have and could have found a way to stop him and unify behind one of the other candidates, all of whom, even Ted Cruz, fell within the scope of normal and weren’t utter demagogues who made their contempt for the Constitution plain. Priebus is now rewarded with a big important job, but for a president who’s already not very popular and who will be besieged by scandal from the moment he says “so help me God.” Indeed, a couple more juicy CIA leaks between now and January 20 might persuade a majority of Americans that......

Sad that he did not read and understand the words he wrote. Were that the case, and the left truly believes this, then we would NOT have had eight years of the demagogue-in-chief, the one (and only) -time community organizer with nothing at his disposal apart from a teleprompter.

After President Obama leaves the White House, his family has plans to move to a $5 million mansion in Washington D.C.
According to Politico’s Mike Allen, Obama will lease the mansion from former Bill Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart and Giovanna Gray.
The home was sold in 2014 for $5,295,000 and has 9 beds and 8.5 bathrooms, according to the McFadden group. It has 8,200 square feet and was built in 1928.

It was always my understanding that the purpose of of the electoral college was to insure that the states elected the president and not the people.

OK, who believes this person would have said Ted Cruz was anything different that Trump if he had been the nominee?
Trump irritates them in a way that even Cruz couldn’t - he just dismisses their BS and calls it for what it is. I can’t see Cruz doing that. He’s too much of a politician at heart.
I only wish Hillary got ten million more votes than Trump. It would make the butt hurt more delicious- for the popular vote means squat.
