Interesting article. I have been trying to find some inexpensive gizmo to help me find my keys and wallet which I often misplace around the house..

maybe it’s just me, but if you have trouble keeping up with your personal items,

how is buying 8 new items going to help you? Won’t you just start misplacing the new things too?

Yes this sarcasm.

But, worst of all, you’ve left your thermostat on, and your utility bill is skyrocketing

Sounds like the author doesn't know what a thermostat is.

I bet you’d get some interesting information if you taped one of those tiles to the bottom of the car of James Alefantes or Podesta to see where they slip off to...

Tile?

Holy Moses! I went to Amazon. And bought one for my daughter. Who is always losing her keys. 5 star rating and only $24.99.

Thanks for the thread!

If I want to remember to take something to work or back home, I put my keys with that item.

It’s a real you-know-what when the item is ice cream - you have no idea how cold 0 degrees F is until you slip frozen car keys into your pocket.

Or Hans Brinker's grandfather(?) putting the money under the loose floorboard.

I put things "to go" right at the foot of the door.

But the keys have been going into that little bowl on the table near the door going on 20 years.

Maybe they can come up with a locator for my lost youth.

Or my sense of humor, some say it’s been missing for months.

The one that most appeals to me is the dog tag, just in case someone were to break into my house when I'm not home and the dog gets out.

I'm pretty good with most other things. My keys and wallet are always in my pockets until I put on pajamas; at which time they are always put in the same place on my dresser. I've never understood people laying their keys around and forgetting where they put them.

I always buy an umbrella with a strap to which I attach a carabinier clip so that it can hang from a belt loop. I started this after leaving one behind at a restaurant once.

Habits save time!!

Yup. Keys go the same place every time. Ditto for where I park at a mall or the super market. And so on.
