We keep bottles water (Sam’s Club from Walmart) to carry in our cars (saves a lot of money vs. buying it for 5-6 times the cost at a convenience store) and use a Black Berkey water filter for tap water because the local water isn’t too good w/o removing a few particles.

My in-laws have a softener to deal with Alamogordo’s hard water. IMHO the softener actually makes their water worse. The water tastes funny either way but the filtered feels somehow less clean.

Well. Most visitors here have generally said things like,
“UGH!” and “PSHEW!” and “YUK!” when we’ve given them a
glass of our water. (I try to keep the more “genteel”
bottled water to refrigerate before anyone comes here if I
know they’re coming.) After 30 yrs. I’m used to it. FANG
is really blessed in that he DOES NOT CARE what anyone
THINKS about us and our water.

I’m a tap water guy, the only thing about Winter is that water comes out of the tap cold.
