A judge in Washington has been assigned to handle the citation against Ammon Bundy's lawyer Marcus Mumford, who was accused of failing to follow a federal officers direction....
Moments after a jury returned not guilty verdicts for Bundy and six co-defendants on Oct. 27 in the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Mumford stood before U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown and argued that his client should be released from custody immediately.
..U.S. marshals slowly moved in and surrounded Mumford at his defense table. The judge directed them to move back, but moments later the marshals grabbed Mumford, tackled him and stunned him with a Taser gun....
In a probable cause statement filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland, the marshals give their explanation of why they took the actions they did, though the statement makes no mention that a marshal used a stun gun.....
According to an account written by Colin M. Fawcett of the U.S. Marshals Service, Mumford grew "increasingly agitated" after learning that Bundy wouldn't be released from custody.
"As Marshals moved forward to escort Bundy out of the courtroom, Mumford positioned his body so as to block the Marshals from taking Bundy into custody and began yelling in protest," Fawcett wrote.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Erik Helsing instructed Mumford to "lower his voice and stand down".......Mumford became even more agitated "flailing his arms and raising his voice even louder".....
Mumford took a particular stance that in Fawcett's "experience as a police officer and combat veteran" signaled that the attorney was "preparing for a combative and physical altercation".....
..Tuesday night, Mumford said the marshals now are "just making up facts." He said the marshals admitted to his staff after he was taken into custody on Oct. 27 "that they didn't have any custody orders" for Bundy.......

Who would arrest them? At the time I mean? Maybe things just spiraled out of the judges ability to control the situation.
Bailiff.
But he probably would have gotten a beat down too.
I agree. It really sounds like the Feds in Oregon got out of control. First the BLM people, then the Office of U.S. Attorney, then the marshals that ignored the judge's instruction.
If in fact the marshals later testify that they knew they did not have an order in hand to hold the acquitted defendant, then assault charges should be considered.
I know the marshals wanted to finish some out-processing, but an acquittal in court should still be acknowledged and celebrated.
I have family out west and know the BLM is the greatest agency that needs totally revamping, if not eliminated altogether and returning those lands to the States.
We need someone who will clean house like Sarah Palin at Interior, not some Republican politician who pays lip service to changing things.
Want to bet a female “marshall” was the one who tased him because she was too small to handle him? This happens SO often. 3 fatal shootings of unarmed “agitated” people were by female cops. And I also recall an agitated Costco employee holding a butter knife who was fatally shot by a 5’ 2” female cop.
Funny how US Marshall s and the fbi can go after patriots but totally ignore PizzaGate.
To them I say this, there is a special place in hell for those who coverup and ignore the rape, murder and sacrifice of Christ little ones.
Oh. So there are victims now?
That is not taught anymore. That history has been changed to America’s opression. History changed just like any authoritarian regime does.
The State of Oregon is also pursuing charges against Bundy.
So, the marshals were butt hurt because the Oregon standoff men were acquitted, and they tased Ammon’s attorney for “retribution.”
The marshal’s should be facing charges.
There is no justification for what the US Marshall’s did so they have to make it up.
WHen the law is administered by thugs in gubamint drag, there will be no Justice.
“That should be enough to get the federal cops the full support of the ‘veterans entitlement’ crew here at FR. “
You mean like they support John McCain because he was a POW?
Anyone around here actually support McCain?
If someone wants to support an ex-POW politician, Sam Johnson should be their go-to guy.
