Now that we have a pro-gun President, do you think he will repatriate all the firearms out there that Obama didn't let in? I understand that there are boat loads of WWII weapons discovered since the fall of the Soviet Union and the merging of East Germany with Germany. At least that is my impression. And that Clinton and Obama have made it illegal for people to return these guns to America for sale. Am I completely out of touch with this or are there thousands and thousands of Garands, carbines and 1911s overseas that Trump could allow for sale again in America.
OOPS! I should have put (vanity) in title.
Can a nice moderator please fix the title for me so people know this is a vanity. I don’t want people thinking I have heard something official on this this or something. I am just speculating that Trump will restore our right to snatch up guns from overseas again.
Thanks sincerely.
I’d like for him to rescind GHW Bush’s EO limiting the importation of firearms that do not have a “sporting purpose”. Little pr!ck
Why should this be any concern at this time?
I think there are bigger fish to fry right now.
Yes I would bet on it. And South Korea a few years ago wanted to send their stock of Garands and carbines back to the US. Obama stopped it.
They can send me all of them
I read there are around 100k M1 Garands in South Korea.
Just for your info, according to collectors and BATF these guns are referred to as “relics.” “Antique” guns are those made in 1898 or before.
I don’t know but I don’t have any strong feeling that the president-elect is really very strong on second Amendment issues. Or voters.
So I’d recommend keeping an eye on firearms sites for offerings.

What about some WWII mortars?
Undoubtedly. However, this is an executive branch policy call - literally just a phone call to whomever is appointed ATF administrator is all it takes. If someone wants to make it a priority, the best bet is to get in touch with Trump's sons, they're the firearms enthusiasts.

AGAIN! Adding to Ever Worsening Ammo Shortage 2013
That would be awesome. I’d love me a garand.
that do not have a sporting purpose.
= = =
Is that similar to a “sporting chance”, like ...
I’ll give you a count of 3 before I start shooting.
Thank you for the reminder, hence the “curio and relic” licence.
My, has it been THAT LONG since I bought something? Sheesh.
I need to celebrate the Trump victory with a purchase. An M1 carbine brought in from overseas would be just the thing. Of course, I could suffer with just an Garand. (wink wink)
I am holding out for a T-34 myself. I am sure Russia has plenty of old ones to sell. I don’t mind a few shell holes in the hull. Gives it that broken in look.
