The new MacBook Pro is here literally available for preorder today and Ive just tried it. The best thing I can say about is simple: everything about it looks and feels so good I almost didnt believe it.
Well start with the marquee feature, the Touch Bar. What you might not have gathered from the keynote is that it has a matte finish, which makes the buttons on it somehow feel a little more physical. Its bright, but not so bright that it distracts it seems to be about on par with the brightness of the backlit keyboard.
THE TOUCH BAR LOOKS REALLY GOOD, THE SCREEN LOOKS INCREDIBLE
I have questions about whether or not all these changing function buttons will be comprehensible, but in my brief time with them they all made sense to me. Theres no haptic feedback on them, unfortunately, but obviously they all worked perfectly. That included quickly applying filters in Photos and sorting emails in Mail.
I also rearranged buttons (you can find the option in a menu) and it worked, well, as advertised. Whats neat about dragging buttons down from the screen to the Touch Bar is that you can keep moving them with the mouse on the second screen.

knowing Apple, it probably does
Its not a bug, its a feature!
I own Apple stock, so I hope it sells well. I don’t own any Apple products.
I hope the whole company goes bankrupt
What, no glowing apple? Bummer.
I just upgraded to Sierra and already resent the hell out of Siri poking its nose in mah bidness. I think I’d have a meltdown trying to do the touchbar, but by the time my offspring have shamed me numerous times in the coming years by showing off with theirs, maybe I’ll be able to afford a used one and mess around with it.
Once I make my profit, I couldn’t care less.
oh don’t tell me you bought it at a high price
that sucks
And why is that? Why would you wish ill on one of the most successful American companies ever conceived?

Why would it do that? It's not a Samsung product.
No Escape key makes it a non-starter for me. A shame - I’m typing this on a Macbook Pro and I would have enjoyed upgrading. But I still use and love vi, and I need a real Escape key.

No. Just waiting for a little more profit.
The iPhone 7 was reported to having this feature.
And yet Siri does nothing unless you ask it to. The task bar has way to many new features for me to even wonder about it. I moved from a Mouse to a Trackpad a few years back out of necessity and don't use all the features on that.
Oh? I kinda doubt your story about Siri bothering you. How in the heck can it be bothering you? Siri won't even come up unless you invoke it. To use Siri on a Mac requires YOU TO DO SOMETHING to get Siri's attention!
To get Siri to come on you have click the Siri button in the upper right corner of the screen, or hold Command and Space, and then ask it a question, it should not ever bother you. If you don't do either of those things, Siri will just ignore you. If Siri is coming on at random times, turn it off by going into System Preferences, clicking on the Siri Pane and disabling it. Simple.
No, Apple dropped the glowing Apple with the MacBook last year. It required a thicker lid to have a backlight for that Apple on the top of the lid. I kind of miss it too.
