What, no glowing apple? Bummer.
I just upgraded to Sierra and already resent the hell out of Siri poking its nose in mah bidness. I think I’d have a meltdown trying to do the touchbar, but by the time my offspring have shamed me numerous times in the coming years by showing off with theirs, maybe I’ll be able to afford a used one and mess around with it.

No Escape key makes it a non-starter for me. A shame - I’m typing this on a Macbook Pro and I would have enjoyed upgrading. But I still use and love vi, and I need a real Escape key.

Only people who own Tesla’s could afford this.
$1,499 to $4,299. It must be the cost of the 2TB SSD.
You get this with so many Windows laptops today for under $1,000, heck under $700.

I’m going to buy mine tomorrow.

$1800 is the entry-level price for the 13" machine with the bloat bar touch bar. I'm glad I wasn't waiting to buy one.

I have been using my iPad exclusively and never use my MacBook Pro anymore since my charger frayed. I'm NOT buying another one!!!😡 I absolutely love my iPad but miss the keyboard. I hate this pecking and looking at the keys when I type. This new MacBook might be in my future-a good compromise with its lightness and real keyboard. Maybe next spring when I'm fat with cash.

Interesting thread. My mother in law is looking at upgrading. Looks like I'll be checking out the apple store soon. I'm still a 'build your own' linux guy, but you gotta love Mac hardware.
this thread sure attracted a lot of trolls.

I’ve been using Macs for DAW work in my recording studio since 2008. I love the stability in OS X. All of my tools just work.
That said, I am not dropping the kind of $$$ Apple wants for this new, very cool, upgraded version of the Mac Pro. It’s just too damn expensive for someone with a moderate income like me. I’ll stay way behind the new tech curve with my 2009 (upgrade to 2010 firmware) Mac Pro & keep my money.
Due to Apple pricing & their dealings with Saudi Arabia & other reasons, I only buy used, refurbished Macs from a very good 3rd party business here in Florida. Apple gets zero $$$ from us & I still get solid hardware that suits my needs.
