CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hunters rejoice! A fast-food chain is adding deer meat to its menu so you never have to come home from a hunt empty-handed.
The fast-food restaurant said it's venison sandwich features a thick-cut venison steak topped with crispy onions and a juniper berry sauce served on a toasted specialty roll, the company said in a press release Tuesday.

Mmmmmmm, venison.
Not available near me but I would love to try this. A suggestion. Since we are in Florida where we have plenty of wild feral hogs, I wonder if they could add this smoked pork to their menu?
Love to try it. But how in the heck can they get that much deer meat?
Roadkill.
I had bear stew at a church supper on Saturday. It was delicious!
The pic is mouth-watering. What a pity we don’t have deer in Idaho. Oh, wait...
Venison doesn’t necessarily mean deer meat. It’s probably from other wild game.
I was at a Arby’s in Florida for lunch today. The employees were all wearing T-shirts that read “You’re at the top of the food chain. Eat like it.”

I bet the one you buy doesn’t look like that.
Droooool...
Ewww...
If it is the loin, count me in. If not, I still may be interested.
5.56mm
Arby’s other offerings are....less than appetizing. I can’t imagine they’re going to handle venison any better.
Will you be able to taste the meat?
Can count on one hand the number of times I’ve eaten there on one hand, but everything I ever had tasted like salt. Way too much salt.
Article mentioned they were using farm raised deer venison.
Most probably already know - it’s illegal to commercially process or sell non-farm raised mammal meat.
As I understand it, you can’t sell your freshly killed buck to a butcher to sell to customers at his shop.
USDA / State Health Dept regulations...

New Zealand farms deer
Arby’s is really expanding their menu. Pork Belly, Brisket, Turkey sandwiches are available in California. During the Spring and Summer I can’t say enough about their chicken salad sandwich.
Here is a copycat recipe that is real close
