Once I had gone target practice with my pistol a day or two before....I opened the hatch to the SUV...and my gun was laying there. No mag in it...nothing in the chamber. He recoiled like he had seen a rattlesnake. The gun was just sitting there...He acted like it was going to shoot him.
He's a good guy...but his politics aren't rational.
At times, I wish I had gone that route.
But I do have the option of buying a G21 and having both to shoot!
Lol, I hear you.
I was a 1911 purist for years, switched to the Glock for work (security) because a manager who was totally ignorant about firearms decided that a pistol with no external safety was somehow safer than one with 2 external safeties (moron)
Ended up selling both my 1911s and several other weapons to fund a divorce...missing my Garand the most of all of them...needless to say I’m never getting married again :)

Actually, you don’t want over the immense 10 mag penetration unless you have a few other bad guys lined up right behind the first perp. 10s are trail guns.
What about those lower velocity/heavier slug loadings? Do those still punch too deep?
"Steel is real." :-)
Amen to that; ping to my post #23 IIRC
Personally, I would not choose to use slugs on a two legged threat. Your mileage may vary.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel totally safe with .45, but 10mm is compelling lol
To each his own. Have a nice day.
Lol shoot, if it wasn’t for a 1911 in my grandfather’s hand on Saipan, I wouldn’t be posting this.
God bless you and yours FRiend :)
Is that a bear gun? I noticed that a lot of people talk about the need to file off the front sight on a bear gun. :-)
Space Age engineering. Very light; very controllable. i never recommend any thing
smaller than a 380ACP +P
When training CCW Instructors
I recommend a Keltec p-3at
Depends on what you feed it.
10mm can suffer with under penetration because most HP rounds are designed for lower 40 S&W velocities. The HP opens up too fast dumping energy too quickly.
10s are definitely more than trail guns.
.45 for fun in the sun...
.
Nine is fine for serious work...

It may be the smallest in size, but both the Kel Tec and the Ruger LCP are very little larger, and 2-3 ounces lighter.
It makes quite a difference in such small guns.
Kel Tec 8.3 oz
Ruger LCP 9.4 oz
Seecamp 11.5 oz
Both the Kel Tec and Ruger are in .380. The Ruger has a sterling reputation.
I currently reload 9mm, 10mm and .45 Auto.
I carry polymer, just can’t beat the comfort and reduced weight for daily carry. Because that is what I carry, I have to practice with them, no way around it.
But after I put through my mandatory rounds for the carry pistols, I pull out the gun I love to shoot. It is even bigger and heavier than a government model. I pull out a S&W 625, steel N frame 45 Auto revolver. I need to buy a second or third because both my boys have fallen in love with the revolver and I have to wait my turn to shoot now.
Steel is real, revolvers are a blast. But in the end, you have to pick the right tool.
I am very tempted to turn a series 70 into 460 Rowland. Haven’t figured out if I want to invest in yet another cartridge to reload, but I could get the 625 reamed out to shoot the 460 and retire the 10mm. But then I would start thinking I could save some weight and increase capacity by converting a Glock 21 and then I’d be back in polymer.
