A small town tradition that many animal rights groups have called cruel took place this weekend when six live turkeys were dropped from a plane from 500 feet in the air. One died upon impact.
On Friday, one of the turkeys was found dead on the ground after being chucked from the plane. It's unclear how many die each year. Barb Klug, 66, of Bull Shoals collected the dead bird and says she plans to serve it for Thanksgiving dinner.

Most of the world isn’t as tough as you, big guy.
Some of us even care for plants. Of course, we can’t do it for very long, after a few years of caring for a garden you can turn into a FAGGOT.
So be careful.

BTW, out here our gardens are pretty big. Perfect climate for it.
.......and a BBQ grill with ribs, chicken or steak on it —don’t forget that! My favorite sights, smells and sounds of summer were the smell of fresh cut grass, listening to a Cardinals baseball game while dad BBQ’d on the grill.....ahhhhhhhh

You’re just mentally ill, and I have compassion for that.
"Every Turkey Dies...But Not Every Turkey Truly Lives!"
I got 19 I’m raising for butcher but 5 of them are more like pets then anything. They are so funny they come up to the back yard and call for us and follow us around just talking their heads off.
There are some folks on FR who think that animal lovers can’t hold two concerns at once, or walk and chew gum at the same time.
Or the Big Guy putting the “foot powder” in his shoes.
Or the one where the tornadoes come through and Les only has an emergency plan for communist attack so he substitutes the word tornado wherever it said commie.
Insufficient ratio of wing lift to body weight. Plus the bird likely had little to no practice flying. Or plummeting, as this appears to have been.
If birds could think in words, one wonders what words might have been going through its little bird mind.
Was it, perhaps, grasping a coconut by its husk...
The Age Old Question!
I got to go with Bailey

Ya got trees at 500 ft with an air speed of 80 MPH Plus.
Show me aTurk that can handle that....”Flying” for Turks puts them in the trees for night time survival, thats it.
Turks don’t build nests in trees, they lay their eggs on the ground.
Turks do as much airborne shit as a chicken.
Actually, at the time, there really WERE phone cops. I know that from personal experience.
Same here. Jennifer has her points, but I rather prefer brunettes. Also, Bailey always struck me as a “girl next door” type.
Two of them!
I can toss many of my chickens quite a ways up in the air and they land just fine.
Of course, YMMV, as apparently it did in this event.
