The puns were great! Often cringe-worthy, but great!

OMG...I Remember Ultraman! Hiyata and the Science team.

Early Japanese anime like Astro Boy, Tobot, Speed Racer. That was early 70s. In the Philly mtero area, those shows were on UHF stations - 17, 29, 48 and 57.

Saturday mornings - Jonny Quest, 7am to 8am, Spiderman, Scooby Do (liked the originals... but Scrappy Do Must Be Destroyed...Period)... Warner Bros cartoons till noon... then outside and GONE until dinner time.

They were the best!!!!!!

Like I said, as an adult we GET them now... back then, it was just the pure enjoyment of a simple cartoon moose and squirrel outwitting a funny Russian spy and his hottie.

“..An eccentric and proud of it, Ward was known for pulling an unusual publicity stunt that coincided with a national crisis. Ward bought an island in Minnesota near his home and dubbed it “Moosylvania,” based upon the home of his Bullwinkle TV character. He and publicist Howard Brandy crossed the country in a van, gathering signatures on a petition for statehood for Moosylvania. They then visited Washington, D.C., and attempted to gain an audience with President John F. Kennedy. They arrived at the White House during the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis and were escorted off the grounds at gunpoint.[2]:199....”

THAT is frigging CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love it...

My daughter still brings up “The Angry Beavers” from On-Demand and we watch them once in a while. She’s 24 and we STILL crack up with those.

LOL That’s great.

I do indeed... he was also the Radio Reporter in “War of the Worlds”, where they were in the trench waiting for the nuclear FLying Wing to hit the Martian machines.

He had that deep, sonorous voice that could be at once amazing and terrifying.

Did a lot for Disney too.

Paul Frees did Boris.

Hard to believe that June Foray did both Rocky and Natasha.

Thanks to all of you for sharing a bit of nostalgic reverie with me. I appreciate it very much. Been a rough couple of weeks of late personally, and I needed a good laugh.

We come from a good generation of folks... raised by a great generation.

We need to be sure it’s NEVER forgotten.

And now... back to the 5am reality of the alarm clock and commute to work.

Ya’ll have a GREAT evening... and watch out for “Flying Squirrel and Moose...”

I loved it too, as a kid. I bought a DVD pack that had the complete Rat Patrol series and started watching it. Five minutes later I questioned my youthful judgement. Oh, well.
Did you watch Combat or 12 O’clock High? Those were the good ones!
