Thanks! I got Windows 10, I’ll bookmark this. Right now I’m trying to find out why it says my Windows license expires on Jan. 2017. It’s suppose to be some bug and I hope it doesn’t prevent access after that date.
The Windows 10 upgrade glitched on my computer and ruined the hard drive. I replaced the hard drive and loaded Ubuntu 16.04
Not complaining just stating. MS systems especially Windows 7 seemed to work well but I’m not going back
I wish you had good information on how to prevent Win10 from spying on users and sending that data back to Microsoft. Seriously. That would be good news. Or how to refuse updates. Either of these would be welcome news to w10 users.
Thanks I am still a bit confused when it comes to cleaning the disk such as what can be deleted (i.e. previous windows installation, etc). Also, I do not have a CD as a back-up in the event something happens.
14 seconds from power on to sign in screen, heap big fast.
Oh, you have the version that needs a monthly subscription at that point...
Windows Ten sucks. When I returned to 7, it wrecked my drivers. When they force me to run that crappy spybot system, I’ll go elsewhere.
Oh no are you kidding? When did Microsoft start that? I’ve owned computers since the early 90s, all Windows and they never had that
Yeah I try to avoid updates at all costs if something is working right. The problem with Windows 10 is you can’t shut off their freakin’ “updates”.
MS announced it for the “Win 10 Enterprise” version, iirc, this week or last.
Also, I do not have a CD as a back-up in the event something happens.
My mistake. Two months ago.
A CD didn’t come with my computer at all!!
bmfl
However, 10 will never be loaded until a sure method to stop ALL external monitoring is created.
When I got mine (from amazon) it came on a USB stick. You should be able to download the ISO file from Microsoft and burn it to CD or put it on a USB stick.
(ISO file = full up installation stuff)
Thanks for the advice. I will check into it.
Start by telling it you have a metered connection. Even if you don't.
