Chase has had struggles with substances during his career. He checked into the Betty Ford Clinic in the 1980s for treatment for an addiction to prescription pain killers.
The 72-year-old former star of Saturday Night Live and the Vacation movies was recently a regular on TVs Community from 2009 to 2014. He has a pair of films coming up

He should be banned from tv and movies until he gets his act together.....Why? He’s doing nothing critical. Should Dean Martin have been banned?
“You gonna eat your fat..?”
This Just In.
Chevy Chase’s career is still dead.
He said the body AND then engine were shot.
Nothing salvageable!!!
Plenty of CARBs. And I never talk about my injectors or intake header in public :)
Couldn’t agree more. Will Ferrell is repulsive.
Yeah, but he can go through a pile of Peruvian Marching Powder quicker than Scarface.
Well, at least, fortunately for him, he's Chevy Chase, and not...John Belushi.
He’s awful as an actor.
I wish Chevy all the best. Having said that I think it was one of those the making of Caddyshack shows where I first heard the quote below:
“When National Lampoon co-founder Doug Kenney died tragically in 1980, falling off a cliff in Hawaii, SNL writer Michael O’Donoghue said, “Too bad he wasn’t shaking hands with Chevy when it happened.” - Rolling Stone
One of them said they a coworker at some particular Murdoch property left a box of buttons in the break room that said "Chevy Chase Got My Raise This Year" for what that disaster did to the income of News Corp that year.
This clown is about a funny as road kill.
Full replacement...if he is up-to-it.
I recommend JCWHITNEY.com
What's that? I think a "Spin/Dry" is a three day stint.
A "Tune Up" is maybe a week?
It’s very frustrating, to put it nicely.
He's the Keith Olbermann of comedy.
The best thing about CaddyShack [other than Dangerfield’s last great cinematic effort] is that it propagated both “Tin Cup” and “Happy Gilmore”.
Be The Ball!
In the early 80’s I was working at a co at Burbank airport where “Fletch” was being filmed. As was custom at the time, a huge catering spread was laid out and anyone could just walk in and chow down. So I sat & ate lunch with Chevy Chase and Stu Gilliam who was very nice. CC was a lot more reserved. Then our Latino worker told him rather inartfully “you look a lot better with your wig on”, whereupon he got up & left.
Brush with greatness story.
What that really means is he fell off the water wagon. Fear will do that to you
He was notoriously unpleasant when he was super popular. Him and Bill Murray got into a fist fight backstage at SNL when Chase came back to host (Murray had ‘replaced’ him).
