How Ryan Lochte turned a drunken, frat-boy night into an international mess
Yeah, its come to this: The story of the Olympics, a likely fake claim of robbery at the end of a drunken night of debauchery turned into global story courtesy of a publicity-mad swimmer-turned-reality-TV-star who, unlike his three buddies teammates Jimmy Feigen, Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz is home safe in the United States.
This is likely bad news for Ryan Lochte, who appears to have found his three compatriots throwing him under the bus to authorities. At least two of the swimmers are at the jail, and have reportedly told police Lochte made up the story.

¿”Cuánto dinero que su padres tienen?”
You’d be horrified if you read the reports I’ve seen. This is light hearted banter compared to the stories of bodies washing up on beaches down there.
They probably need to do some jail time. Too bad they are swimmers and not runners.
Or possibly “I see you have a gold medal there...”
Make him Sec of State.
Don’t forget he apparently lied his mom AND then Matt Lauer. The horror!
He should conflate his lying with that of Hil and Bryan Williams, say he is a follower and is following their guidance, can’t tell the truth ‘bout ‘nuttin.
He is no different from the black lives matter liars. He has defamed the policemen who put their lives on the line to try to make a better place of their community.
Oh please, you’ve flown the coop, BLM openly calls for the killing of police officers, what they did was equivalent of a prank, give it up
If girls were involved, maybe Lochte is innocent. He doesn’t seem like a guy who looks twice at girls.
So reports are now that they can be charged with “giving false testimony”. What I fail to see is where they were “giving testimony”...which implies a legal proceeding with a burden to speak truthfully.
These Brazilian officials are so paranoid about their country looking bad that they are making their country look bad by their over the top response.
Oops, the Brazilian police are now saying the security guards DID point their guns at the swimmers. If the guards pulled guns and demanded money, it sounds a lot like what the swimmers originally said.
His "prank" will cost billions in future revenue to a country that desperately needs it. If the world believes that the cops are dishonest to the point of robbing tourists their hotels and tourist dependent businesses will suffer greatly.
Sounds like they were drunk, had to take a piss, and broke the lock to a gas station. The manager came out and they paid for the lock. He told his mom over the phone he was robbed....not sure why, and she blabbed that to the international media. And here we are.
That makes more sense. If the corrupt bandito cops DID point their guns at the and take their money, then that was armed robbery. But in the turd world, all cops are corrupt thugs.
Something is terribly wrong when the youth of the world are provided such an example!
Instead, those youth who might aspire to the Presidency one day should be cautioned that their fidelity to the Constitution and to truth were prime requisites for that Office.
“Sounds like they were drunk, had to take a piss, and broke the lock to a gas station.”
Why wouldn’t they take a leak on the curb like everyone else does?
Actually, it sounds as though more than one count of malicious mischief, vandalism, and even perhaps assault could be charged, according to allegations made in reports.
Oh please, let’s all put on thinking caps here. His friends are being held in a foreign country that won’t let them leave until they “admit” he lied. He’s safe, so they lie as they’re told and get out of that hellhole.
Period.
Actually, as some have pointed out, California law prohibits unlawful self-help, and the behavior of the “security guards” could be charged as robbery and false imprisonment, depending on the account that is accepted by the trier of fact. From this viewpoint, the swimmers really were robbed as they claimed.
