Freeper question on converting youtube music
8/7/2016 | LS

Freepers, I am willing to pay for my music. I don't pirate. But there is a song---the theme song for a BBC series called "The Musketeers"---that I love. It is not available to buy anywhere, but there is a youtube extended video a guy edited together.

How can I "rip" this into an MP3? I am told youtube has such a serice on its site, but it doesn't work for me.

Try SaveFrom.net. Here's a link to it which populates the textbox with the Clinton Cash video, just replace that with the url of the video you want; then there'll be several options -- among them are audio only. (After you get that, you can edit it from any robust audio editor.)

Otherwise, there are websites like this which will accept a YouTube link and give you the MP3 audio file:

http://www.listentoyoutube.com/

And there are apps that you can run on your PC as well.

Don't EVER use KeepVid.

Or the opposite of what I just posted.

One of those. :)

The Slimjet browser, a Chrome variant, has a downloader built in. It downloads and creates a .mp4 video and a .mp3 audio file.

Just a button click away. It’s super!

Ok, people, I tried most of these. It tells me “invalid file format” (This is the youtube link: https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=tightropetb&p=The+musketeers+exteneded+theme#id=1&vid=29eaa807aa21bde1d289625fd5c164f0&action=view)

It gives me other error messages but this is the main one.

There’s an app called iShowu that works well on macs. Used to be free. It captures video and audio.

I prefer http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/. It is freeware. Be sure to get the full studio. It has a multitude of audio and video tools. Or, if you prefer, you can simply get the "You Tube Converter" which is also on the site.

Keeps telling me “invalid URL” even though I can go there and play it!

I use Real Player to download music and then use RP to burn CD’s - it converts it to MP3 just before the burn.

The URL in your post is NOT youtube - it’s a search on yahoo, and the video there is an html5 player video.

Check the bottom right hand corner of the video (while it’s playing) and click on the youtube link. Then you can download the youtube file using any of the suggestions in this thread.

The link which you sent to me opens for me without error.

Or are you saying that the link to dvdvideosoft is invalid?

You may have a problem in your browser. Which browser do you use?
