An Orlando man was charged with possession of crystal meth with a gun, but a state crime lab proved him right — it was actually glaze from Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
When the man stopped by the 7-Eleven without buying anything and left with an employee in his car, cops were suspicious.
Orlando police were staking out the convenience store, 938 W. Colonial Dr., after neighbors complained of drug activity, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Police saw the man in the silver Chevy leave without stopping at the stop sign and speed off going 42 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, according to the report. They pulled him over.
The officer saw his concealed weapon license, asked to hold onto his gun for safety and had the driver get out of the car. That’s when the veteran officer saw four flakes of a white substance on the floor.
"I recognized through my 11 years of training and experience as a law enforcement officer the substance to be some sort of narcotic," the officer wrote in her report.

Except in court, then if it’s their word against yours, the court takes their side EVERY time unless you can produce exculpatory evidence.

Whatever happened to innocent unless proven guilty? Guess not if they take the cop's word at face value. Anyway, I hate having to go to traffic court to fight a ticket where the cop lies. I get the ticket thrown out, but it's a waste of my time to appear. I've had witnesses sign a statement for me, and that usually does the trick. When I was working for the police, they would tell me to let them toss them for me. All of the stops were when I was younger, haven't been bothered when I got older.

NEVER allow the cops to search your car. NEVER. And if they are going to anyway loudly (so the dash cam gets it) and politely proclaim “I do not submit to searches officer. If they search they can plant stuff, they can find something you never knew was there from someone else, or who knows.
The company that makes those roadside test kits should be sued, too, as well as the dumbass cops.

Leaving the scene (with drug store employee) at a high rate of speed is suspicious (again). Finding physical evidence, (that could have been discarded during the stop), is essential, and resulted in this error.
