Ted Cruz contemplates the unthinkable

Still smarting from his loss in the primary, Cruz says hell use his convention speech to outline his own vision of the Republican Partys future. But will he endorse?
One of these days, and maybe soon, Ted Cruz just might have to endorse Donald Trump.
But hell never concede Trump could have beaten him in a fair fight and hell never accept that Trumps me-first philosophy represents a sustainable future for the GOP. Above all, Cruz wants to use the big stage in Cleveland to present a non-Trump alternative vision for his partys future, one rooted in constitutional conservative principles and competent campaign management modeled, oddly enough, on Barack Obamas 2008 and 2012 White House runs.
In this election I am where a great many voters are, which is that I am listening and watching and coming to a decision, Cruz, the highest-profile Trump holdout heading into this weeks convention, told me when I asked him if he intended to throw his support behind the former reality TV star imminently.

Yes. He’s destroyed himself and it’s sad. His ego overrode his reasoning.

This nominating convention is not about Ted Cruz.
It is about Donald J Trump.

He needs to be sent back to the Senate or more realistically, to the backwaters of Texas.Even more realistically, send him back to where his parents came from.

Cruz himself doesnt exude bitterness or regret he literally calls himself a happy warrior but he has a deeply jaundiced view of the process that ended with him suspending his campaign after Trumps big victory in the Indiana primary in May. He sees collusion, if not an outright conspiracy, between the reality TV candidate and the titans of cable news: Their goal, he told me, was to elevate a hard-to-elect Republican nominee while shoving aside more appealing candidates like himself. This gem right here. Ted really believes this.

Good point, Trump has never given any indication that he is running for President out of selfish motives or ego. He fought like someone who loves this country dearly. Now Ted Cruz is another matter indeed.

If he endorses him, that’s what we’ll get. Ted wants him to lose because, as you said, he wants to run in 2020 as the Reagan hero. Forget it, Ted.

Look at Cruz's resume. He's always been a Bush dynasty guy, from GWBs first run for President. It does seem there was a favorite son strategy where all the crybabies would win their home states, then give their delegates to Jeb.
Cruz is delusional. An honest fight? Cruz would not have gotten anywhere if he hadn't drafted off Trump early on to gain traction.
To think that early on I contributed a few dollars to the Cruz. But greater Freeper hearts and minds than mine were fooled, too.
