Greeting, Kitteh lovers everywhere. I just got a new Furbaby! I Lost my dear Suzie Q about 7 weeks ago. I was just heartbroken. Of all the cats, she was "my" cat. While departing the vet with an empty Cat carrier (a truly crappy experience) I noticed a sign up advertising kittens. Despite my sadness something said "take the number" , so I did. I exchanged texts and photos with the mama cats owner and picked one out. I just got home with her. She is a grayish brown "dilute" tortoiseshell with a facial "blaze" on her right cheek which is tan. Her feet are all tan too, as well as a chest ruffle. It's almost like a sealpoint pattern. Her name is "Dr. Annabell Pepper" or Pepper for short. She is a graduate of the Dr. Tinycat school of veterinary medicine at Embry-O university. She will be staying in the bedroom with me for a few days with "supervised" introductions to the other cats. She's already growled at the other cats through the baby gate. I suspect she will be running the joint within the year. Just having fun with my new little girl.
Notice the eminently rubbable tummy feature.
Congratulations on your new baby. Nothing heals a broken heart after losing one, like getting a new one to love. You will still remember the old one but your life is looking better now.
Pictures, Are. Mandatory
Giving a nice home to a rescue kitty is the best way to handle the grief of loss. And your dearly departed kitteh will be happy you did, too!
I had to deliver the corpse of a dearly beloved cat to the vet a few years ago... “crappy” doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Goes with her older sisters names- snickerdoodle, Oreo cookie and reeses pieces. Her late sisters names were scooterpie and suzie q.

Ignore him. Congratulations on your new kitteh!!
Hey, Celt, I’m no dude.
Just a little humor there catman.
Oooh! a tortie and white! my reese looks like that.

My Shannon has recently taken to lying on her back like that, exposing a large amount of white undercarriage. She’s about double the diameter of your cat!
I am posting from a kindle keyboard right now. you gotta wait until tomorrow when I can do something on my fire. Sorry.

A lot of here have children who are grown. In my case even my grandchildren are grown up and moved out. We have cats and dogs to have something around to love and because the animals love us.
If your cat is fat, then put him on wet food. My big old tom cat is diabetic, and gets two shots a day. I put him on mostly wet food, and he has lost weight over the last few years, and is scampering around like a kitten. I have also been able to reduce his insulin.
Okay, Dudette. =^)
Yep, i’m a cat guy. All lint ridden and proud.

Thanks! I will suggest that to #1 Son, who is in charge of cat diets.
Yes, Pictures !!
Congratulations.
As far as I'm concerned, tortie and white is the ONLY cat color. Six of the 7 cats I've shared my life with have been tortie and whites. The sole exception was my darling Vanilla, who was all snowy white and semi long-haired.
Here is a very recent pic of my Maine Coon Bijou, after she came home from the groomer. Although she outweighs Zizu 2:1, Zizu drives her crazy by stalking her and then leaping on her when she's trying to take a nap. Purely an attempt to play by Zizu, but Bijou reacts by snarling and growling. Not a single aggressive or harmful physical move by Bijou, but she lets her displeasure be known. I would also be ticked off if just about every time I peacefully stretch out for a nap in my own home, a little upstart would jump on me and start mock biting me!
Congrats, CC!
My 7-year old tuxedo kitteh, Bug, is king of the castle here. Younger kid got a lab puppy around Thanksgiving and older kid moved back home temporarily with her whippet while her husband’s on deployment, so Bug has encountered some unwanted sniffing and ‘requests’ to play with the dogs. He’s stood his ground and had to ‘fwap’ them a few times to let them know he’s in charge. Now things have settled in to a comfortable routine. I’m sure Miss Pepper will settle right in with her cohabitants in no time.
Here’s wishing you many years of love and enjoyment.
