One of the many reasons is that during the 20th century when the British and the Americans got together, they whipped the world.

You have to understand, they have been taught from very early on in life to believe this is the solution (one world government) to end wars, racism, and any other ills that plague the earth. So do not be too hard on them because they really are just sheep being led to slaughter and have no clue. Instead they need to learn that any system being run by humans will become corrupt in time, and that the more power they garner the less power you have and the more corrupt the system will become. Then the can turn on any group or groups they so desire if it fits their needs.
