“All Hollywood is capable of doing nowadays is remakes and comic books, that’s it. “

And it’s going to be crap.

Sure, it will have better production values.

But re-making Roots is ludicrous.

There are movies that help to bring a nation together. And then there are movies that help to tear a nation part.

I don’t want to see a movie that shows white people whipping black people. I don’t want to see a movie that shows Indians scalping white people.

Yep, they have a right to make such movies. And they might be entertaining. But they are not helpful.

Hollywood has always been about remakes. And technically nothing NEEDS to be made. But they wanted to, and they just might find an audience. Or they won’t. Whatever. People wring their hands too much over too little.

The reason why you rarely saw Roots repeated on TV all these decades is because a significant part of it was about “Chicken George” and how he gained his freedom by becoming a world class Cock Fighting trainer.

In the Liberal useful idiot hierarchy, animals trump race, so Roots has been essentially censored all these years.

I wonder if they will still include the Chicken George story or alter it in some PC way.

The original Roots series was a disgrace and terrible history, conveniently omitting the sale of Negroes by their own people to the slave traders. That alone made the series, to me a complete joke. And if I'm not wrong, the Roots saga was plagiarized by the phony who wrote it.

It would be nice if this perpetual "white guilt" crap would stop. I never owned a slave, and don't know anyone who did. I also don't know of any Negroes who were slaves.

But here we go again. Crappy history, lots of white guilt, and we get to go over it all again.

this is tailor made to stir up the democrat black base to ensure they get off their asses and vote.
Hillary will have one hell of a tough time getting the percentage of and total number of blacks to get off their asses to vote for her.

Never watched the original (and never will)...and will never watch the remake.Slavery happened. It surely shouldn't have happened. But neither I nor *any* of my ancestors had *anything* to do with it.A Civil War in which millions died along with about twenty-two *trillion* dollars in wealth redistribution...along with the election, and *re-election*,of an utterly unqualified half black guy as President...means “debt repaid”.Times ten!

Did We Really Need a Roots Remake? No, but …

And I assume the "but" relates to the liberal eye-watering horse crap that says we should all watch it to make sure we do not forget the horrors of slavery, and that all us nasty white folks should go into a room and flagellate ourselves, in hopes of purging the sin of white privilege...and so, neither will I watch the stupid pap, nor will I read the remainder of this article.

I'm fed up with this racial crap.

If I wasn't a bigot before now, this stupid crap will certainly put me on the path.

I'm tired of being blamed for every ill that has befallen the black race.

Enough is enough.

Take some damned responsibility for your own selves.

When will America have a ‘Black History’ year?

Perhaps a ‘Black History’ decade!

Hollywood is intellectully bankrupt—it is reduced to making the same movies over and over and over again.

Gotta keep stoking the flames. Obama has obliterated race relations. The Media loves the riots and looting of black mobs. They’ll keep it going as long as possible. Racial strife is very profitable.

No story idea can escape being reused. The new and improved Roots will have more evil whiteys, more heroic blacks, and much more sex and profanity. They will probably have some white cops shoot innocent black teenagers.
