The restaurant world in Los Angeles is rapidly changing, and it seems that no matter how old the eatery theres always something new to try. Case in point: Philippe The Originals plan, as of today, to start offering delivery.
The plan, says popular delivery app Caviar, is to bring Philippes in as a full-time partner, which means customers will be able to enjoy their own French dip sandwiches without leaving the office. The new delivery option kicks off today , with Philippes also turning out soups. sides, salads, and desserts to help complement the iconic sandwich.
Its just the latest restaurant coup for Caviar, which already courts such popular local restaurants as Belcampo, BLD, Canters, Chego, Ledlow, and Pok Pok. It also represents yet another update to Los Angeles longstanding dining traditions. Theres always been something to standing in line at Philippe The Original, likely before a Dodgers game, but with the rise of the citys restaurant culture (and lots of money from locals to spend) it seems folks are willing to pay a premium for the ability to have that nostalgia delivered to them instead.
You know the world is changing when, in the same day, Philippes starts doing delivery and Titos Tacos begins accepting credit cards.
Doesn’t sound like someone I’d want to meet.
Will they deliver the it with hint of the aroma of urine feces and vomit it’s a must for the complete experience
Yeah, and based on my experience with LA traffic your order will be 4 hours late and stone cold.
Over 50 years ago Philippes french dips were delicious, I have reservations about them turning into fast food delivery now.
You know, a drone might be able to carry that ...
If you get tired of French dips at Philippe’s, head for ABC Seafood across the street for some great Southern Chinese cuisine—or walk a couple blocks to the Won Kok, another great Cantonese eatery. Both offer reasonable prices.
Interesting how that traffic was quite bearable when the “Legions of Illegal Aliens” decided to stay at home a few years back to make some point about how it was so necessary they were.
"Is it good with ketchup?"

Is that yoor minkee?
Please ping me with any Southern California related articles. Thank you!
If you want on or off this ping list, please FReepmail me.

Inspector Jacques Clouseau: I would like to take a closer look at your bawls.
Larocque: My what?
Inspector Jacques Clouseau: Your bawls. Your big, brass bawls.
Larocque: Uh, sure.
[starts to unzip pants]
Inspector Jacques Clouseau: [Picks up brass bowl on table and examines it]

I agree. Can’t believe they are doing this.
