Consider all the Republicans who have won the presidency since Ike. What did they all have in common? The average Joe knew ahead of time who they were! Joe knew who Ike was, he knew who Nixon was, etc.
Sure, the true believers know who Cruz is. But Joe Six-Pack does not. So should Cruz be the GOP nominee, Joe will vote as the media - or his family tradition - tells him to. Cruz will lose in a landslide, just as Goldwater did.
But should Cruz be the party's nominee, he will lose just as Goldwater did. Goldwater was a good man, and a patriot. But he got crushed.

The public hasn’t tolerated a few months at a time of Cruz.
Trump, Ike & Nixon have been present for decades with the tolerance of the public.
I can’t speak for Joe Six-Pack, but I knew exactly who cruz was when he came out crowing in the microphones about how we had to pass TPA so we could find out what was in TPP.

The problem with Trump is, almost everybody **does** know him, and most people can’t stand him!

The more people see of Lyin’ Ted the less they like him. Trump continues to gain new supporters.
Which is why he had a top rated show, his "brand" and his business has made him very wealthy and he has gotten more votes, individually, than Cruz.
Yeah......riiiight.
Quite possible. As we all know, the media will be in the tank for whomever is the Democrat nominee. And Trump's shall we say, quirks, make him very vulnerable to media spin.
So, yeah, Trump can be beaten by a well-organized propaganda campaign. And his mouth would only help that along.
But Trump is still the much better bet to win in November, IMHO.
Thats gotta hurt, he comes behind someone who comes fourth in a three man race.

You Cruz supporters are becoming a pathetic sideshow, mirroring the campaign of your failed candidate.
Ted Cruz will not get the GOP nomination under any circumstances.
Better late than never, though. Ted Cruz fanboys will be welcome into the Trump fold when the GOP unifies behind its nominee Donald Trump.
It's amusing to observe the willful denial on display as Ted Cruz plummets in the polls, and is now trailing even John Kasich throughout the Northeast.
It'll be hilarious to see Ted Cruz spinning his multiple third place finishes over the next two Tuesdays.
Ted Cruz is Texas toast. He will have been mathematically eliminated after the next Tuesday or two. His only hope was to get the nomination at a contested GOP convention, which would irreparably splinter the party, and guarantee a GOP defeat in November.
Simply put, that's not going to happen. Not even the crooked GOPe is that stupid.

I’m a lifelong conservative since Reagan. I can’t vote for Trump because he is everything Reagan wasn’t.
Trump’s unfavorable ratings with the American public are historically astronomical. He may have his true believers who would vote for him even if he shoots someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue, but that does not translate to a majority of the electorate. Multitudes of polls show the Donald getting schlonged by Hillary.
He’s leading the Cruzade for all devout and radical Cruzlims who believe him to be the prophet. Piss be upon him.
