To refresh your memory: Washington State has 44 delegates, winner-take-most (majority takes all) proportional primary (20% threshold), with statewide and CD delegates. Closed primary (deadline to switch is next week; deadline for first-time voters is next month), but it’s all mail-in. …And, just think! Five months ago, I would have had to write another three or four sentences to explain all of that. Now I can just assume that most of you folks will be able to follow along. It’s an ill wind, huh? Anyway, it turns out that Ted Cruz has already done the work – before the deadline...

Consider all the Republicans who have won the presidency since Ike. What did they all have in common? The average Joe knew ahead of time who they were! Joe knew who Ike was, he knew who Nixon was, etc. Sure, the true believers know who Cruz is. But Joe Six-Pack does not. So should Cruz be the GOP nominee, Joe will vote as the media - or his family tradition - tells him to. Cruz will lose in a landslide, just as Goldwater did.

According to a new Economist/YouGov poll, Donald Trump is the only remaining Republican candidate who inspires GOP voters.

Delegate fights are going on as I write this. I am seeing headlines all over the place tonight about Wyoming & Georgia delegate fights, and folks, its not pretty. But I am writing this to remind of us a few things, and one of those being that we are not without hope! The other one being that YOUR VOTE IS PRICELESS! The delegate battles are not new.
