Prosecutors in Palm Beach County, Florida announced Thursday that a potential criminal battery case against Donald Trump's campaign manager is dead in the water, calling into question the version of events presented by a reporter who filed the criminal complaint.
One witness told police his eyes were fixed on Michelle Fields, the journalist who claimed Corey Lewandowski battered her – and her actions 'looked like a fraudulent slip-and-fall.'
Police in Jupiter, Florida released video of their interview with Michael Spellman on Thursday, along with a more formal statement that he wrote immediately afterward.
Spellman, the president of a glass technology company based in Jupiter, says on camera that Fields' reaction to Lewandowski separating her from Trump after a March 8 press conference was 'disproportionate' and 'bizarre.'
'At first I thought she was drunk,' he recalled.
State Attorney Dave Aronberg and his chief assistant Adrienne Ellis considered Spellman's statement along with those of other witnesses, ultimately finding that there was conflicting evidence that would kill their chances of convicting Lewandowski.

She should have to pay a price for being so selfish, with absolutely no concern that her false accusations could have horrible effects on other people’s lives. She seems like the kind of person who just wants to get her own way, the consequences to others of little or no concern. Horrible.

Interesting that Cruz supporters keep saying that CL lied when he said he never touched Fields. Well she told police that she never touched Trump. Either they were both lying or more likely the event happened so quickly that neither remembered it correctly.
So bring on the defamation suit, Michelle. You won’t win that either because you defamed CL by making up facts that didn’t happen.

In fact fat Rush talked endlessly for several days about it as if were a big news story.
The video in the ceiling is jumpy. Doesn’t show every frame. To someone right there, it may have looked a little different. She may have considered going all the way down and decided not to at the last minute. She was claiming that she was almost knocked to the ground. So I think that might have been her intention. Maybe she didn’t have enough space to fall down.
But you’re right her friend was trying to distract Corey. If you read the article in the Daily Mail, the guy is surprised that the Secret Service didn’t do a better job.
I was also wondering what she went and got in the back of the room. She picked something up. I wonder if it was the microphone she was using in her ipad when she approached Trump. Maybe she wasn’t allowed to have it and then picked it up in the back of the room so she could record the “incident”.
