Poll: GOP Voters Less Convinced Trump Will Be Party's Nominee
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/8/2016 | Gabby Morrongiello

While Donald Trump's favorability rating continues to decline so has the percentage of Republican voters who believe he will become their party's presidential nominee, a new poll shows.

A Rasmussen Reports survey taken in mid-March, shortly after Trump won a handful of primaries including Florida's winner-take-all contest, found that 87 percent of GOP voters believed the New York billionaire was "likely" to be the Republican nominee.

But the latest survey released Friday shows that in three weeks time, the percentage of Republicans convinced a Trump nomination will happen has declined 10 percentage points. While 46 percent of all voters in mid-March said Trump was "very likely" to be the GOP nominee, only 28 percent feel the same way now.

The steady decrease of GOP voters' confidence in Trump comes as the billionaire struggles to regain momentum following a tumultuous two-and-a-half weeks for his campaign.

Trump's landslide loss in Wisconsin on Tuesday has further fueled speculations that he will not reach the 1,237 delegates needed to secure the GOP nomination the convention in July, and his rapidly declining favorability ratings have exacerbated Republicans' concerns about his electability in the general election.

Rasmussen's latest survey of 1,000 likely U.S. voters was conducted April 5-6. Results contain a margin of error plus or minus 3 percent.

More setup, Trump can’t win women, Trump highest unfavorables ever, Trump fading/Cruz surging.

Long before Wisconsin this was their plan. Whoever was closest would get shoved ahead in WI then they’d push false momentum into NY. This is their last stand, if they can’t keep Trump under 50%, they lose. But they also have the voting machines on their side so we’ll have to see what they do.

I switched from Cruz to Trump. I think many are doing that right now. The truth will set you free.

Exactly. They have already prepped their battlefield with that stupid “Trump has to get greater than 50% in NY or end his campaign” nonsense.....Cruz didn’t get it in Texas, why now does Trump have to for NY?

I will say this, however. With Cruz disastrous foray into the Bronx and surrounding this week, I am beginning to think that Trump just may get more than 50% of the vote in NY.

Keeping Cruz under 20 percent is crucial.

Trump is about to rattle off a few state wins coming up and the faint-hearted will jump on board again.

Gee, it's almost like the media spent all Tuesday and Wednesday telling them Trump was doomed, or something.

And yet, despite the barrage, over three-fourths still think he'll be the GOP nominee, and that number will only increase as Cruz starts rattling off the losses later this month.

Thank you.

Trump’s rules for success: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExKp9e14Xmc

Honest to Pete, the resistance is about the gravy train: keeping the ending of the US going and pillaging the carcass a little more. There’s a lot of money to be bled out of us still.

Then, we get carved up like turkey. Unless we decide we’re Americans, dammit, and you can step off.

“The steady decrease of GOP voters’ confidence in Trump comes as the billionaire struggles to regain momentum”

Attacking anyone who isn’t an all out fanatic about him isn’t
helping either. There’s no reason for them to be so nasty.
The more they do it the more people are driven away.
New York is coming up, lets see how good he does in
the capital state of the Northeastern Communist Block USA.

2 of the last 3 contested Republican conventions the frontrunner didn’t make it. The underdog won the convention and then went on to be President. Their names are Lincoln and Eisenhower. The one time the frontrunner did win, his name was Ford and he ended up losing to Carter.

Putting this old geezer lobbyist in charge now, who is Roger Stones partner is not good.

Trump is getting played by the professional consultant class.

Karl Rove applauded the move.

Trump did not get a single delegate elected in Washington. This is since Manafort came on board. Same could happen in Colorado.
