Robert Windham, better known as Blackjack Mulligan, the patriarch of the Windham wrestling family that includes three performers on the current WWE roster, passed away...

Windham, 73, was a major star in pro wrestling during the 70s and 80s. He was only in the business for two years, working under his real name, before he got his big break in the WWWF in 1971, taking the Blackjack Mulligan name, copying the gimmick with the black cowboy hat and black glove of Blackjack Lanza (Jack Lanza), who had become one of the top heels in the business a few years earlier...

Mulligan's son Barry and Kendall Windham, were both wrestlers and Barry was one of the best wrestlers in the world in the late 80s. His son-in-law, Mike Rotunda, was also a star wrestler and Mike's three children, Windham (Bray Wyatt), Taylor (Bo Dallas) and daughter Mika work for WWE...

I remember his partner, BlackJack Lanza, better. When he was walking to the stage at the Chicago Amphitheater in Chicago for one show, my buddy next to me reached out and touched him. The wrestler chased my friend 5 or 6 rows back into the crowd. Got the show off to a great start.

Always wondered how the cowbell lady turned out. Hope she had a happy life. She certainly seemed to enjoy the wrestling matches.

Sad news. Not as much of a pro wrestling fan as I used to be but my favorite wrestler today is Blackjack Mulligan’s grandson Bray Wyatt. Love his finishing move, “Sister Abigail” and his work on the microphone. Mulligan’s daughter married Mike Rotunda.
Condolences to the family.

Mulligan, one of the toughest guys in wrestling. Had a short temper too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xrs7q2337Kc

I met Mulligan several times when he was running with Ric Flair back in the Mid-Atlantic days.
Big, quiet and gruff looking.
I would always speak but the most he would do was grunt.
I never pressed the issue.
Too scared to.

I eventually made it to Eagle Pass, TX (yes, a real place) but never did find no Double Cross Ranch.

I think that’s his tag-team partner, Blackjack Lanza.
