Trump Steps Into Wisconsin Talk Radio Buzzsaw
National Review ^ | 03.29.16 | John Fund

Posted on 03/29/2016 6:56:20 AM PDT by Behind Liberal Lines

Conservative talk radio in Wisconsin is different from what Donald Trump normally encounters. Hosts in Milwaukee in Madison are hardened champions of Governor Scott Walker’s reforms and don’t take kindly to Trump’s criticisms of them before Walker dropped out of the presidential race last year.

“The hosts hear enough criticism about Wisconsin’s successful reforms from the left, and they’re not happy to hear distortions about them now from Donald Trump,” Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch told me last week.

So Trump stepped into a buzzsaw in Wisconsin yesterday, when his campaign inexplicably allowed him to appear on several hostile talk radio shows with little preparation.

The most noted was that of Milwaukee host Charlie Sykes who masterfully didn’t allow Trump to filibuster him and revealed the mogul’s petulant side.

But other shows were almost as memorable. Vicki McKenna of WISN radio chastised Trump for claiming trade costs jobs overall.

“We’re not losing manufacturing in Wisconsin!” she told Trump. She then asked Trump about his recent retweet of an unflattering picture of Heidi Cruz, the wife of Ted Cruz. That line of questioning didn’t get very far.

“He just hung up on me,” McKenna said on the air. “That’s OK. He gave me 25 minutes. I mean, that was fun.”

No one expects Trump to be making any return engagements on the top Wisconsin talk radio stations.

Trump blew it when he maligned Carly for her looks. Carly could have slashed Hillary leaving Trump to appear presidential. Instead, he will do the slashing exposing his immaturity and misogyny repulsing women voters that Trump needs to win the General. Foolish, IMO.

You poor dears didn’t know the press has been attacking Trump for ten months.

That level of..., well let’s just say you have my sympathy.

Ok so people are uneducated if they don’t agree with you. I don’t like Trump as a person
I like Trump because he destroyed the old way of doing things. I don’t know if he will be a good president or not. But doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Im done with insanity.

Guess what?

Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee and other counties are the most conservative counties in America and they are voting for Cruz.

We have some of the best conservative talk show hosts that present a better understanding of the news than others are getting on a national basis.

The Trump express is not conservative and can’t get the 50% needed. His attitude with women will derail him. Trump is rude, crude and does not answer questions or apologize. He is falling and will fail.

Gov Walker endorsed Cruz this morning.

Don’t knock Oshkosh the site of the busiest airport in the world for one week in the summer.

So who is your second choice - Hillary?

That's funny, I swear you could hear the audience cheering whenever Trump mentioned "Lion Ted".

thats inaccurate

Trump has been attacked by media especially so called conservative media and the Republican establishment at a level never seen before in my 58 years

Ever

And almost always they attacked first

Linda Graham was maybe the first to go personal with all the he’s unfit blather

To suggest Trump hasn’t been under fire is the kind of nonsensical posting by Trump haters that’s irritating

Until just a few days ago Cruz hasn’t felt the sort of personal heat Trump has felt since July or August

How many debates did Trump do where every participant and every moderator was after him?

I’ve never seen that in my life period

When Trump is president it’ll be relaxing by comparison

And yet thru it all he remained accessible

Trump did step into the lions den. Talk radio in Wi is unitedly so anti Trump it is unbelievable. You would think he was Hitler and Stalin rolled into one listening to them. They are totally ridiculous. They don’t let him talk, talking over him with constant outrage in their voices. Saying that Trump remains calm and the answers he gives are usually good, if you can hear him over their voices. He does good.

The one thing I would tell him is that rather than say “they started it” concerning the wife thing I think he should stress that he warned them not to there. If they attacked his wife he would bring things out about Heidi. I appreciate a man who STANDS UP for his woman. He needs to let them know that he wasn’t going to let them attack his wife without going to bat against it. If a man lets others attack his wife without countering it he isn’t a man. If he could make people understand that he did it to protect his wife I think women could relate to that. What woman wouldn’t want her man to stand up for her if she is attacked?

I think many talk show hosts are moderate and naïve to the dangers we face as a nation, but think that they are conservative. Look at who they support, Kasich, Fiona, etc. These politicians have GOPe records. They are more of the same. The same has almost destroyed us. These talk show hosts are probably in side of comfortable bubbles having been on the air for a long time with good pay and benefits. Because they have been protected, comfortable and friends with many rino types they can’t understand nor relate to the terrible dangers we are up against. Many of these politicians supported bills that brought here.

This primary election is a charade. It’s a lopsided win for Trump. But, We are stuck with the GOPe and a guy trying to steal delegates from a winner and promote a rules change to qualify a win for himself.

Cruz has weaseled wins in small caucus states with oddball vote counting methods and some are certainly questionable.
Cruz carried these states:
Virgin Islands. by 30 votes
Wyoming........by 480 votes
Alaska............by 600 votes
Maine.............by 2,500
(My kid’s high school is larger than the above total!)

Ted’s total votes from 9 wins.

Wyoming....... 620 people and
Virgin Islands 200 people
Alaska..... 8,400
Maine...... 8,500
Kansas... 35,000
Iowa...... 52,000
Utah..... 122,000
Okie..... 158,000
That’s eight states totaling 385,000 votes.
If it wasn’t for Texas, he’d have a pile of beans!

Cruz’s homeTexas win was 1,239,393
Cruz won 9 states with..... 1,724,000 votes

Trump won 21 states, and nearly all the states were won by tens and hundreds of thousands of votes. The millions that have attended his rallies have voted.
Marianas (343peeps)... Hawaii...........6,000
Vermont...... 20,000.....Nevada.........35,000
Kentucky..... 83,000.....N. Hamp.....101,000
Louisiana.... 125,000....Arkansas....133,000
Mississippi...191,000....S. Carolina...241,000
Arizona........250,000.....Mass...........311,000
Tennessee....333,000.....Virginia.......356,000
AlaBama.......372,000.....Missouri......382,000
N. Carolina...458,000.....Michigigan...483,000
Georgia........503,000......Illinois.........557,000
And Florida 1,079,741

Trump won 21 states with 6,020,000 votes. He has a total of 7,897,990 votes and 755 delegates. Thats 290 more than Ted.

Cruz’s only way to prevail now is by pure chicanery, just how he began this campaign. It is impossible now for him to have a clean delegate win

The awesomeness of your question was: Will Trump whine and cry? I told you that at least Trump doesn’t shy away from hostiles. Ever. Unlike Ted.

I would agree. It does not seem that the left will do that, though. They have made comments literally laughing at how the right is destroying itself publicly.
