Yes, I know. To suggest such a thing in the heat of battle could be considered at least heresy, or at worst treason and a hanging offence; but, please, let us look at some real trends that are quickly turning into political facts.
First No candidate will reach 1237 before the GOP convention, and only two candidates with a snowball's chance of being nominated are Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. The third, John Kasich has no chance, but to accumulate a few more delegates, impress the desperate establishment oligarchy and offer to be a spoiler--IF THE DELEGATE COUNT IS CLOSE ENOUGH between Cruz and Trump. An alliance between Kasich and Rubio, who has not released his delegates, could become trouble if the Elites are insane enough to run another candidate, and destroy the Party in order to save it! Remember they don't really care who wins so long as they own and control the Party.
IF, and when, Donald and Ted finally reach a point, within a short period of time -SOON, to get all the personal stuff out of their systems, make a first ballot plan to agree on a ticket together, and throw in their delegates; this would TOTALLY destroy any plans against them, and insure their nomination.
Whoever would wind up first and second on the ticket would depend on the difference in delegate strength, and the lateness of the hour. They are both intelligent men who know the score and by then would see the advantages. If this could be done what a Ticket it would make.
Could you support this? Please tell me what you think.
No possible way. Trump and his supporters smashed everyone to get where they are. Let them win by themselves.
I think your assumption that Trump isn’t going to get to 1237 is flawed. He’s actually going to get there pretty easily. So nice try with yet another vanity post to push an agenda, but this brokered convention bs is exactly that.
Alternately, keep Ted Cruz and his toxic associations like Glenn Beck as far away from the winning campaign as possible.
Ronald Reagan was coerced into accepting George H.W. Bush as VP. Bush repaid him by trying to have Reagan murdered less than a year later.
Trump would be ill-advised to have a Bush agent as his VP.
The problem is (and I’m a Cruz supporter) there is no way that Cruz gets to 1237, and it’s likely Trump doesn’t either. If neither does, then the party bosses are gonna do whatever they can to ensure that someone else gets it - Kasich, Ryan, Bush, etc.. Unifying the Trump and Cruz forces may be the only way to prevent that.

I have always thought that after the long mudball fights were over, Trump and Cruz would come together in some manner. Either as an electoral ticket, or in a cooperative effort to settle the nomination process with ‘an insurgent’ as the winner. Some of Trump’s mean statements were so over the top to resemble a deliberate parody of stereotypic campaign behavior. Even Dr.Carson was able to see through the bluster, and admit Trump had something of value to offer the nation.
And Cruz and his pal Glenn Beck aren’t wrecking havoc....jeez I’m sick of the whole business...
Trump WILL get 1237, if not more.
You know Beck is going to insert himself in the platform discussion, if he can. He’ll go to Cleveland, too.

Trump is the one that made this reconciliation impossible, not Cruz, with his birther “he is a Canadian” nonsense.
Assuming Donald Trump did not get the required majority of Delegates I would agree that they should try to work together in some capacity. It is still possible though that Donald might get an overall majority.
