Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson made a startling admission in a new interview, essentially saying he didnt want to endorse Donald Trump but did so because Trump offered him an advisory role if elected. The admission comes just days after Carson endorsed Trump for the GOP nomination for president.
Carson gave an interview to Steve Malzberg of NewsMax TV. First, Carson said he wished he could have endorsed someone else...

aren’t there laws against that type of endorsement...
just wondering.
Sheesh!
I think so.
How else would a Conservative minded person endorse a moderate at best, liberal at worst candidate?
Oh man...might as well have not made the endorsement if you are going to turn around and say these types of things a few days later.
Ben, Ben, Ben...we love you brother...but this is not Prime Time stuff.
I’ve seen this story at least three or four times this morning before noon. This thread needs to be subsumed with one of the other threads that nobody is paying attention to, frankly. Last minute electioneering is misplaced here. Everyone is convinced for whom they’d vote. This perhaps would be better served on Yahoo for the idiots out there looking for guidance..
” .... essentially saying ..... “

In other words, he didn’t say that.
I dunno. If they’re aren’t there should be.
This diminishes him, and there are laws against such agreements.
He said no such thing, Ertelt, you filthy liar
The interview actually shows that Carson would have preferred a different candidate but none of the current crop are better than Trump.
Then he said he will have an advisory role in a Trump administration.
Not a bribe.
DR. BEN CARSON: I do believe, and certainly in my discussions with Donald Trump, he does love America and he does want to be successful. And, he will surround himself with very good people.
NEWSMAXS STEVE MALZBERG: And will one of them be Dr. Ben Carson?
Carson: I will be doing things as well, yeah.
Malzberg: In the administration.
Carson: Certainly in an advisory capacity.
Malzberg: Thats been determined? Youve, when you sat down with him that was discussed?
Carson: Yes.
“Essentially” means putting my words in his mouth.
I smell the BS. He didn’t say anything close to that in the interview.
Where is the audio, or is this just some demenTED interpretation?
Honestly, as a Ted Cruz guy, this is mostly politics as usual. The real head scratcher is why Carson brought this up. Between this and the “only 4 years” comment he seems to be more boat anchor than sale on the good ship Trump.
Quid pro quo
So Trump purchased Ben’s endorsement.
