Yeah, its usually done under the table. IE. they make sure the official time line is that they accept the position after the endorsement.

Honestly, as a Ted Cruz guy, this is mostly politics as usual. The real head scratcher is why Carson brought this up. Between this and the “only 4 years” comment he seems to be more boat anchor than sale on the good ship Trump.

IF there is a quid pro quo exchange of support for government job, that is unethical at the least.
